And my subtle reference goes seemingly unnoticed.. Unnoticed and unacknowledged are not the same thing.

"One must fight the battle to understand its beauty." "With my feet upon the ground I lose myself between the sounds and open wide to suck it in, I feel it move across my skin. I'm reaching up and reaching out, I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me, whatever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been. We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been. Spiral out. Keep going."

i go to school with the top players in GA... i don't get to feel like the best, but i get the prestige of being on par with the best... except for big lou.... dude's a beast....
but anyway, we're all pretty much even with each other, so getting dominance over each other requires a lot of effort; more than you really want to exert.
you find when everyone is good that you don't really care about winning/losing. on that note, they all enjoy playing the hacked characters.
serious matches are for tourneys (like this saturday).

I'm a "that guy" among a smaller group of friends offline, but they haven't stopped playing me.
Well...when we were still into the game, that is.

Though I noticed that my Melee skill has gone to shat in the year that I've stopped playing. I used to be able to incorporate Fox's reflector into combat all the time, but now I find it hard to use it to reflect most projectiles, opting to air-dodge them instead. i go to school with the top players in GA... i don't get to feel like the best, but i get the prestige of being on par with the best... except for big lou.... dude's a beast....

I had a three year hiatus from Melee, and I was still able to three-stock decent players with Falcon.

You know.. From the home page, this topic title almost looks a little bit... suggestive, if you know what I mean. I clicked on this topic SOLELY because of this. <_<

Proud owner of the book of Lymon!! OFFICIAL GameFAQs Talkshow Host!!! Proud supporter of Sonic in SSBB!!!!! What do you think I'm gonna do? Hit on you? Not likely. I'll always envision Lumines and Jawo' as Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles, respectively now.
Stop being modest, Jawo', and admit that you look cool.
I swear Jawo' runs around with a glue gun and an evil grin.
Justin, I'll find you and then I'll beat you senseless if you don't unconfuse me.
Jawo' is King Silly and will be until the day he dies.

Anyone ever get that feeling that they're "that guy" just because they're the best Smash Bros. player amongst their group? I just played a number of people at Melee and 64 and simply slaughtered them, 3 stocking their best player in a 5 lives match, and then one of them says, "He should play DJ", at which point they start rooting for DJ while one of them goes to fetch him like the opening to the movie Troy. So this DJ guy shows up and I notice that it's some guy that I beat the crap out of in a Brawl tournament in the beginning of the year while jokingly using Donkey Kong. The guy takes one look at me and says, "I'm good." and decides to just watch.
I so know what you mean. I know I've posted something about this a while back... It's some kind of rare and huge accomplishment to win against me among my group of friends for some reason. They're just so predictable yet they think I'm telepathic or something.
