On the topic of fillers: Do you think that Cartoon Network will leave them in? Some people seem to think that they'll be taken out.

I say that they'll leave them in, as there's no particular reason to remove them. It would cause the English Anime to catch up really fast, and the English Manga would be years behind. The only people that will know that they are fillers are die-hard fans of the series, but the average fan will just think that it's random missions and such.

Yay! Fellow Naruto fans!

I've seen the dub....and I must say, it's ok. Better than a lot of other dubs, if you think about it.

Mostly, I just read Manga spoilers anymore, although recently I found a site to read the scanlations, and I've started doing that.

Personally, I've been a bit disappointed with the latest chapters. Kishimoto just seems not to be trying so hard. Not to mention how unbelievably over-powered he's made Sasuke lately. Sasuke should not be able to take down Deidara single handedly.

Oh well, at least we've gotten three good things from the latest chapters:
1) Suigetsu, who is funny.
2) Juugo, who is an interesting character.
3) MORE TOBI!!!!!!! Yay!

My brother recently decided he likes maplestory, and because of that, I won't be able to be on much.

Quick question. In the Sub, is Naruto saying "tebayo" after everything equivelent to his "believe it" in the dub?

detabayo or something like that. The main group who subs Naruto is called that.  and the company dubbing it...I have no idea why they had him say believe it instead. Detabayo is just a way of expressing something with extra umpff.  in no way means "believe it!"

I won't say anything, because of spoilers.

First of all, the phrase Naruto is always saying is "dattebyo" and it basically is supposed to make him sound tougher. It has no literal English translation....the closest thing in English you could translate "dattebyo" as is "Arrrrrr!" It doesn't mean anything.....it's just a speech quark, like Deidara's "yeah" or "un" or "hmph" (depending on how you translate it.....I personally am a fan of the "yeah")

Well Deidara, you truly went out with a "bang". I'm rather pleased with this chapter. Even though you know Sasuke will somehow miraculously survive, I think that Deidara's death is very in character and Kishimoto actually handled it well. Also, if you really think about it, Sasuke technically lost this fight. Deidara technically won. That makes me very happy.

Also, Deidara is my winner of the "Most Badass Death in Naruto" award. Turning yourself into a bomb with the blast radius of a small nuke......that's just epic. And totally badass.

Well, Leafninja.com always posts a brief description of the new chapter once the translation comes out. And I always read that before I even bother reading the manga. And they have never been wrong for as long as I've been checking, so I trust them.

Yes, I'm upset about what Kishimoto did with Tobi. Upset doesn't even begin to describe it. Next week better have a good explanation as to what the heck is going on, or I'm going to stop reading Naruto.

I mean, this is just horrible. It's not even a clever plot twist. It's very, very stupid and makes absolutely no sense.


As much as I hate the ObiTobi theory, I would have preferred that coming true to this crap. Heck, I would have preferred Tobi dying in the explosion to this.......Kishimoto just seriously ruined a perfectly good character in my opinion.

It wasn't unexpected. Why would Kishi introduce a character like that just to have him be a nobody?

Yeah, but there is a difference between revealing a character to be someone who actually would make sense, as opposed to seemingly randomly making a character someone else.

As much as I hated the ObiTobi theory, at least it made sense. Revealing Tobi as being Obito would have annoyed me a bit, but ultimately, I would have acknowledged that the signs were there and moved on.

This though.....this is so random and out of the blue, that it does not make sense. From the moment he was first introduced, never have we been led to believe that Tobi is an evil mastermind. There has not been the slightest clue that this would happen.

Further more, look at who Tobi is. Why do people like Tobi? As a huge Tobi fan, I can tell you why. Tobi is an idiot. Tobi is funny. Tobi is comic relief. Tobi....well, Tobi  is a good boy! That's why people like Tobi! And to do something like this.....it totally contradicts the entire essence of the character Tobi. It makes no sense, and it seems totally out of character for Tobi.

I mean, this is just really bad writing. Yes, everyone knew there was more to Tobi than being a good boy. This, however, is not what anyone expected, and is not what anyone wanted.

When you right a manga, yes you can do anything you want. But if you don't explain it in a way that makes sense, then people are going to be mad. This is my second rant. All through filler Hell(At 190, now), Naruto has been ****worthy. All throughout the thing he's all "wah wah, train with Ero-Sannin, wah wah, I can't train on my own wah wah. wah." Well, Naruto, why don't you learn some new ****ing teniques!? You only have three of them, one of them completely useless(summoning), and the other you misuse(shadow clones). What the **** are you doing with those things!? "Oooo! It's a huge mass of invunerable chakra coming out of his back! I better summon 50 shadow clones so they can sit there and die, while I stay in the back and say damn, it's not working!" You can't even figure out that Hinata likes you!! You are a ****ing useless idiot that doesn't deserve to be a ninja. "Oooo! That doesn't effect me at all! Why don't you beat the **** out of me while I just stand there some more! Don't worry, you could just pull out a kunai and stab me in the neck, I'll just stand there startled!"

Last week was SO good, I'm afraid this episode will feel like a piece of **** if it's not as good as last week...which I severly doubt it can acheive.

and then the current arc...

After this arc, they introduce my three favorite new characters.

Tobi, Sai, and Yamato.

I mean, really! That sounds like something 4Kids would call it! I understand that they can't call it Drunken Fist, I can live with the whole Elixir thing, but LOOPY FIST!? That ruined the whole thing for me! I was looking forward to last night and next week's Naruto because they were the Drunken Fist episodes, but now Viz completely ruined it for me! I mean, up until now, I've always said the Naruto has had a decent dub. But I honestly can't say that anymore. I was expecting something clever, something a lot more intelligent...but LOOPY FIST!? It's insulting! Most people watching Naruto are not 10 year-olds! We're not going to find Loopy Fist funny! We're going to think it's LAME! Even off the top of my head, I came up with the name Potion Fist as a much better alternative! LOOPY FIST!?

I'm not watching Naruto next Saturday night. I can't. I honestly feel insulted by Viz Media. I used to defend the Naruto Dub. I used to think that it wasn't that bad. But that.....that was the only mistake it took. I always knew that the Drunken Fist episodes would be Viz Media's true test. They could either handle those episodes in a clever manner and earn my respect, or do something stupid and earn my wrath. They chose the later. And I am upset.

Well, I knew they couldn't call it Drunken Fist....but I at least expected something more intelligent than friggin' Loopy Fist.

Like I said, they could have called it Potion Fist. It would fit in with the whole "calling sake elixir" thing that they were doing, and it wouldn't have sounded so dumb. Like I said, I could live with the whole "elixir" thing. But Loopy Fist is where I draw the line.

That, and the fact that they edited out Lee's red cheeks. That was just pointless. I mean, they made Lee sound drunk....he was slurring his speech. But he can't have red cheeks?

They screw you over. I'm not surprised to be honest... Not because I don't like dubs, but because Naruto aired on CN. Everything that airs on CN gets screwed over if it wasn't immediately intended for kids. One piece got screwed, and now Naruto gets screwed. Pokemon got screwed, Yu-gi-oh got screwed... It's not a surprise for me.

I'm just glad that Denmark will get the uncensored version of the anime.

Naruto & Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo have been taken by Jetix & Cartoon Network had One Piece before it got cancelled.

Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon didn't originally air on Cartoon Network here in America....well, Yu-Gi-Oh GX originally aired on Cartoon Network, but that was it.

The main problem is 4Kids. 4Kids dubbed Yu-Gi-Oh, they dubbed several seasons of Pokemon, and they originally dubbed One Piece.

Although, ironically enough, 4Kids didn't really screw Pokemon up. The Pokemon anime just became horrible when they began to show all those fillers to stall until the 3rd gen games were released.


Up until now, Naruto has had what I called a "decent dub". They didn't try to write around death, they removed some blood, but not all of it, they used the word kill....I mean, they kept in the Sexy Jutsu, and made several vague references to alcohol. But then they pulled the whole Loopy Fist crap. It's the only horrible thing they've done, but it's insulting enough for me to be really upset about it.

When I think about it, I really hope Naruto Shippuden airs on Adult Swim, that way they won't have to edit Sai's lines about Naruto's manhood, nor will they have to edit out Hidan and Suigetsu's language.

I think you'll have to wave goodbye to Sai's insults. I doubt Viz will give Naruto away to another company, or air it on Adult swim.

It's a child anime you know.

Eh, Yu-Gi-Oh & Pokemon are crappy shows anyway. Pokemon might be better if they ditched the current characters & followed the games more.

And to be fair, I prefer GX to original Yu-Gi-Oh. Though I lost interest in that some time ago...

The problem is, so is Bleach. In Japan, Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece are all targeted towards the same age group. Yet when you bring them to America, Naruto and One Piece suddenly get targeted towards a younger audience, while Bleach is targeted towards an older group. Why?

I mean, when I think about it, I'm now dreading the introduction of Franky in the dub, because I'm afraid of what they may change. You know they're going to do something about the part where Franky streaks through the city, and you know they're going to try and edit around the part where Robin grabs Franky's manhood. And it makes me sad.
They'll probably also edit Brook's request to see Robin and Nami's panties!

It's stuff like this that makes me realize that as long as they continue to market One Piece and Naruto to the wrong age group, they'll never be able to really dub it correctly.



I agree. Pokemon is aimed towards younger audiences even in Japan, and Yu-Gi-Oh is actually pretty boring when you think about it.

As for the Pokemon anime....well, let's just say I've actually compiled a list of changes they would have to make to make the Pokemon anime good. And the number one change is to get rid of Ash.

THat's actually a subject I like Denmark on. We're getting the Naruto anime January 1st, in two versions. One to be shown on T.V, which has been edited. The second is an unedited version, completely intact, that you can freely watch on the internet.

THAT is the correct way to dub something, if you want it to be aimed towards younger audiences. Just let people watch it on the internet if they don't like the edited version.

Animecentral in the UK only starts broadcasting each day at 9pm with Bleach, shows an episode of five different animes after the Bleach episode, then repeats the each episode three times in one night. I think the third showing is just subbed.

Bleach is the only show I watch on there. the others vaguely interest me, particularly Ghost in the Shell, but I've never watched any of them. Just seen trailers during breaks.

I actually found most of the English dubbed voices to be decent.

I especially love Gai's dub voice. It fits him so well.


And I hate it when people complain about Naruto's dub voice being annoying. Guess what! Naruto is supposed to sound annoying and hyperactive! HE'S NARUTO! Yes, his voice is annoying sounding. It's because the character is annoying! The voice fits the character!

Plus, Naruto is only 12. If anything, Sasuke's deep voice seems slightly odd for a 12-year old. But his voice is deep because he's emo.



Ghost in the Shell is pretty good. I watch it every now and then. I like it.

I don't mind the dubbed Naruto voices either. Although, Orochimaru's voice just draws more comparisons between him & Michael Jackson...

See, this is what's good about the Bleach dub. It doesn't get totally raped by censors.

There really is no forgiving what 4Kids did to One Piece. I reckon the only reason they tied to kiddify it is because pirates could be interpreted as being more kiddy than a show that revolves around death & evil spirits.

But that's my whole point. Bleach DOESN'T have more blood, in fact it has less. It has more violence, but it has less blood.

When Luffy fights, he bleeds like tons, as does Zoro. They bleed to fill bucketfulls.

I never really knew that, but it's kind of the point that I'm trying to make. With all the blood they edit out of One Piece, Bleach could have just as easily aimed at a younger audience. I mean, they managed to edit Shaman King for a younger audience, and it dealt heavily with death and ghosts. So basically, my problem is that they treat One Piece and Naruto like it's so much kiddier than Bleach, when it isn't.

If Bleach is [adult swim] material, then so should Naruto and One Piece.

My problem with the Shaman King dub is that they pretty much showed every episode only once. Which means, I actually missed most episodes.

This just in: Viz announces Shippuuden to start March 08. According to the list of episodes, there's about 6 weeks of episodes at the 2 episode a week rate... We'll probably see a bit of filler, probably the last one because the end contains a canon scene.

And Shikamaru smoking will probably be done OK, since all cartoon network requires them to do is edit out the smoke.
Any nudity can easily be covered up with steam without looking too bad.

Ugh, this episode was terrible. All it showed was Orochimaru walking to Naruto, then both of their eyes for a pretty long time, two seconds of action, some stupid flashbacks to a few episodes back that aren't even that far back, and then all to tell us that the next episode will air on January 10th, 2008.

Basically, it was:

Two minutes of catch-up from last episode --> Buildup to this episode ---> Action (omg two seconds of action) ---> Flashback to something important ---> Filler.

so...Jiraiya has now officially died...

and...two more fights commence...

interesting though, that Zetsu knows about Madara when nobody other than Konan and Pein had shown to know him...

or perhaps Zetsu only knows of Madara, and not who he is...

I went to Jump Festa 2008 today and saw Kishi was asked some questions about the manga by Junko (VA Naruto), Noriaki (VA Sasuke), Chie (VA Sakura) and Kazuhiko (VA Kakashi) on the stage.

(I feel like I should post this in the HoU or Telegrams, coz it's gonna be a huge spoiler. If I was wrong, move this to the right place, please.)

Naruto has to be grown up. Shikamaru also needed to be grown up. And Sakura will have to be grown up, too. Lee? Lee doesn't need to be grown up anymore.

I'm gonna write about mainly Sasuke next year. And Kakashi and Sakura, after that. Especially Kakashi. I can't tell yet but a huge event will happen to him.
