Title: Astro Boy

So, anybody gone to see the new movie yet? I just went yesterday, and I rather liked it. Not only did it have really great, thematic orchestral music all throughout, it even kept quite a few of the themes of the original work.

It looked like a breath of fresh air from all the **** being crapped out of Hollywood's anal-warted hind end like G.I. Joe, Dragonball Evolution, Transformers, etc.

It was rather dumbed-down and shortened for the original to fit into a movie and all, but it was still rather good.

Cool. The review I read said it was mainly for the kids and not for the fans. It's nice to see it was appreciated by some.
I appreciated it mainly for the fantastic visuals, incredible music, faithfulness to the original themes and conventions of the series, and not having to look at a shirtless kid in black spandex shorts and boots. Oh, and the ending was rather fun, making fun of the conventions of the genre as it did.

That's an interesting take on it, kind of makes me want to see it. I was never a big fan, mind you. But I definitely have friends who are into the series. Might be something to look into, anyway. I heard from a friend of mine that Paranormal Activity was stupid, and I sort of wanted to see that.
It's the kind of thing that people of our age will see for twothree reasons. The first is nostalgia, pure and simple. The second is to kind of snark at it and laugh at the antics. The third is the cameo Samuel L. Jackson has.

!!!

Count me in!
Knew that'd get you. He has one of the single best lines in the film. You'll know it when you see it. And if you don't, then I'll you myself.
