Post by: Spring-Loaded on 27 December, 2009, 09:49:57 pm
And I don't mean horrible sense of humor. I mean nonexistent.

The PJ's or whatever

...

Tonight is just full of twists and turns, isn't it? You think...you think you have a generally idea of who someone is, then it just...is turned in on itself.

Spring? Hate to break it to ya buddy, but the PJ's honestly sucked. Complete and utter balls. Just about everybody who's ever seen it has agreed. That's part of why it was canceled so quickly.

I need not see you ever again.

In the next pen and paper RPG game I play, when I kill someone important, I'm going to utter this line.

According to Jim

It would be such a sweet deal writing for one of those shows. You just write bland meandering crap and get paid forever at the cost of your dignity.

Then, just before you leave/kill yourself, you start writing episodes that get progressively more and more **** up until you get to Jim getting kidnapped and raped by clowns.

I actually like According to Jim...
Kinda reminds me of my family, 'cept with even more crazyness.

I find 2 guys and a Girl to be the most unfunny TV show. If it's supposed to be funny, that is...

But anyway, I do agree about Tom Goes to the Mayor being one of those.

Sit Down Shut Up

So far, this has been the most nonexistent-funny show I've seen listed here. There have been other lame ones, but you could at least laugh at how dumb the "comedy" is.

I'd add Super Jail, but that falls in with "a lot of Adult Swim shows".

I'd personally argue that still wasn't very funny, but then I'm not really a fan of that style of comedy or Ricky Gervais in general.

Jay Leno's talk shows. We don't get it, but I've seen a few clips of it online and...

I cringe more than I snicker. I don't snicker at all, actually.

Just to interject: Too many of these are either funny in some regards or so bad they can be considered funny in way.

The one MM posted is an example of a show that is devoid of humor.

You must have passed over Two and a Half Men.

I actually find that show pretty decent from time to time, but then again I don't mind sex jokes that much.

Me neither, but I do find myself listening to the audience reaction and thinking "okay, it wasn't that funny...". If indeed there really is an audience at filming, they seem to get a bit overexcited.

Sadly, most of them tend to be that exaggerated.

I **** hate laugh tracks, and Two and a Half Men overuses them to a ridiculous extent. Every joke has the exact same set up and timing too, and they're never funny.

Eh, some of the funniest shows I've seen have had laughter. But it's a fine balance between acceptable/ignorable and irritating.

I remember one sketch show here in the UK. The sketches weren't very good, but every one of them ended with a round of (undeserved) applause. Every. Single. One.

There's a difference between American and UK sitcoms, one's usually hilarious the other's usually stupid.

I agree with Superjail, it's basically an overly long Joe Cartoon without the hamsters and frogs in blenders.

Well duh, the only good American sitcoms I've seen are Fresh Prince, Frasier, and Seinfeld.

Seriously, though, I'd forgotten how good Fresh Prince was until I recently started watching it again. And I keep forgetting that Fasier's actually a spin-off. It just seems way to good to be one.
