Hinata:

Costume 1: Normal appearance
Costume 2: Post-time skip outfit

Transformations:
Byakugan: Hinata activates her Byakugan, gaining a 10% increase in speed and draining energy (chakra, ki, stamina, mana, etc) with every blow. This drains her own chakra, however, and she will deactivate if she has less than one block. Can still be used while Awakened.
Awakened Hinata: Hinata throws off her coat and her hands glow blue with chakra. She gains a 20% increase in attack.

Special Attacks:
Eight Trigrams: Thirty Two Palms: Hinata lunges forward to strike the opponent. If she succeeds, she performs a 32 hit combo with chakra enhanced strikes. If performed while Byakugan is active, drains half the opponent's energy bar.
Eight Trigrams: Spirit Palm: Hinata assumes a counter stance. If she is struck by any physical attack, she'll throw the opponent into the air and strike them with a chakra enhanced palm as they fall.
Eight Trigrams: Stream Palm: Hinata thrusts both palms forward, firing a close range blast of blue chakra. A blue version of Kid Gohan's Masenko from Infinite World.
Eight Trigrams: Sixty Four Palms: Hinata lunges forward to strike the opponent. If she succeeds, she performs a 64 hit combo with chakra enhanced strikes. If performed while Byakugan is active, drains all of the opponent's energy bar. Replaces Eight Trigrams: Thirty Two Palms while Awakened.

Ultimate Attacks:
Eight Trigrams: Sixty Four Palms Guard: Cinematic Ultimate. Hinata lunges forward and strikes with both hands, then knocks the opponent into the air. She begins to rapidly move her arms as they fall, leaving trails of blue chakra. If she wins the power struggle, the opponent lands hard and stands up, seeing what Hinata's doing. They charge forward, but too late as Hinata immediately moves her arms even faster to create a blue dome around herself, cutting the opponent with her chakra blades. If the opponent wins, they land on their hands and jump back onto their feet. They see what she's doing and jump back, easily dodging the dome.
Eight Trigrams: One Hundred Twenty Eight Palms: Real time Ultimate. Hinata lunges forward to strike the opponent. If she succeeds, she unleashes a 128 hit combo with chakra enhanced strikes that not only does damage but winds the opponent. If Byakugan is active, t also drains the opponent of all their chakra.

[vs Ayla] "How was that, oneechan?"
[vs Neji] "Neji-oniisan..."
[vs Naruto] "Naruto-kun! A-are you alright?"

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Davidk92 on 15 February, 2010, 02:13:36 pm
[sigh] I'm not too happy with this one.

Ayla:

Costume 1: Normal appearance.
Costume 2: Brown outfit.

Transformations:
None.

Special Attacks:
Roundillo Kick: Ayla rolls forward and kicks. Similar to Hercule's Rolling Hercule Punch but with a kick.
Boulder Toss: Ayla slams her fists down to summon a boulder, then throws it at her opponent.
Cat Attack: Ayla lunges forward and performs a 6 hit combo with feral, feline-like strikes.
Triple Kick: Ayla crouches low, then leaps up and performs three kicks in rapid succession. Similar to Hercule's Dynamite Kick or Videl's Eagle Kick, but without the explosions or blue energy.

Ultimate Attacks:
Dino Tail: Cinematic Ultimate. Ayla headbutts the opponent into the air, then jumps up and axehandles them down. The opponent looks up to see Ayla sitting on the head of a tyrannosaurus rex, which attempts to stamp on the opponent. If Ayla wins the power struggle, the opponent will dodge it's feet, but cries out helplessly as the t-rex crushes them under its tail. If the opponent wins, Ayla will jump down in frustration to continue the fight after the opponent dodges the dinosaur's stomps, but is hit by it's tail, gaining an anime bump on her head.
Double Triple Kick: Real time Ultimate. Ayla will perform a brief power-up, her skin turning bright red, and perform her Triple Kick. If these attacks connect, she will knock them over and jump off-screen, before performing three flying kicks into their stomach, jumping back off-screen with each kick.

Entrance Quote:
"Ayla not scared! Ayla win!"
"Ayla strong; Ayla not run!"
[vs David] "David! Ayla want fight! Prove you strongest!"
[vs Waluigi] "Waluigi! Fight Ayla!"
[vs Silhouette] "Sil! Ayla match?"
[vs Mecha] "Mecha! Raw-bot strong?"
[vs Hinata] "Okay! Ayla fight you!"
[vs Sheena, Harumi, ZeldaFan, Agaranok or Gargravarr] "Who you? You strong?"

Victory Quote:
"Ha! Ayla strongest there is!"
"Ayla win; Ayla always win!"
[vs David] "What happen? You stronger than this."
[vs Waluigi] "Ha ha! Ayla win this time!"
[vs Silhouette] "Sil lose? Sil let Ayla win?"
[vs Mecha] "Raw-bot not strong as Ayla think..."
[vs Hinata] "Hinata fun! Let go again!"
[vs Sheena, Harumi, ZeldaFan, Agaranok or Gargravarr] "You not strong as look. Come back when you ready."

Characters still to do:

No, I'm rubbish at thinking up movelists in general. Even for games I'm familiar with, like Smash Bros or Dissidia.

Diablo:

Costume 1: Normal appearance.

He twirls it and smacks them down to the ground, before landing and clapping his hands, a summoning rune appearing on the ground in front of him. If Diablo wins the power struggle, Diablo will summon Cerberus, who will try to crush the opponent under his paws before breathing three beams of purple/black energy at them, resulting in a huge explosion. If the opponent wins, Diablo will only summon a tiny imp, who will annoy the opponent long enough for Diablo to impale them on his fork.
Hellfire: Giant Blast: Cinematic Ultimate. Diablo knocks the opponent into the air and follows them, to knock them back down. He holds out one arm and starts to gather hellfire. As he does, he shouts "Hellfire: Giant Blast!" and fires the attack. If Diablo wins the power struggle, he shouts "I'll see you in hell!" and throws a smaller ball of hellfire at it, detonating it. If he loses, the attack slowly overwhelms the opponent's defenses. Only available with Wrath of Hell active. Similar to Vegeta's Big Bang Attack from Budokai series and Infinite World.

"Welcome to hell!"
[vs any kitsune, demon or werewolf][/i] "You're a demon? Well I'm a DEVIL!"

"[laughes mockingly and flexes his muscles]"

I see... Well, not necessarily a weak character, just an... unusual one. One that doesn't seem very serious and takes a while to master or get used to, but is deadly in the right hands.

I mean, Diablo's meant to be a bit of a prankster, isn't he? Admittedly a very powerful demonic one, but still...

Fine. I'm out of characters to do now anyway.

David, he's not. Chill out. Don't even start to provoke a fight. He isn't trying to. He was just sharing his opinion as to how he viewed things.

He wasn't saying that you're doing your own character wrong, that's just how he perceived him to be. He's not demanding that he HAS to be that way, just the way that he sees it. It's your character, you made him up, you have the right to portray him any which way you feel like it. But not everyone is going to interpret things the same exact way.

That's all I want to say, and let's leave it at that.

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Davidk92 on 11 June, 2010, 01:06:46 pm
...you do realise that this had already blown over long ago and all you're doing is risking opening an old wound? And you have the cheek to say I'm starting a fight?

Anyway, went back and added Silhouette's costumes, Diablo's second Ultimate and Diablo's quotes.

I must say, I really like that one. The attacks and quotes all fit the character.

I also like the little nod to FMA, and his occasional pranked transformation into a girl, with the Edward costume and the pink costume.

It isn't? Well, just affirms what I said about being out-of-date. XD

Although I did play BurstLimit at a friend's house not too long ago. It was a bit more simple compared to the other games, but was still interesting. I'd have to play it again to form a better opinion on it.

Anyways, I'd actually really like to see what you could come up with. I have difficulty with occasionally overpowering and underpowering movesets, and all the ones you've made here seem pretty solid.

The Budokai series consists of DBZ: Budokai 1-3, DBZ: Shin Budokai 1 and 2, DBZ: Infinite World and, to a lesser extent, DBZ: Burst Limit. I think Burst Limit was an experiment to see how DBZ would work on high-def consoles.

Oh, I'm not saying it isn't. It's one of my favourite games. And you'd be hard pushed to find someone who doesn't find a game where you can play as a giant, golden, fire-breathing, laser-firing monkey to be enjoyable.

Oh, no, I wasn't insinuating that you didn't like it, just felt like making that point.

And yes indeed. The awful think was that before I owned it, my friend would bring it over and destroy me with his insanely customized Bardock.

The most horrifying thing was his special that was a dash grab. I almost looked like he was raping them. D:

EDIT: I remember now, it was called Final Revenger. And we just thought that at the time because we had no idea as to what he was doing.

They had to. It was horrifying the first time he did it to me. But he'd take out 3 of my non-custom characters JUST with his Bardock. It wasn't fun. :/

But now I have my customized Vegeta for revenge.

Marik “Gargravarr” Avalon:

Costume 1: Black trenchcoat, white t-shirt, black trousers.
Costume 2: White trenchcoat, black t-shirt, white trousers.

Transformations:
Shikai: Adapt: Gar activates his sword's shikai, causing plates to float around him and increase his attack by 10% and defense by 20%.

Special Attacks:
Mako Shot: Gar holds his hand out and fires a large golden orb of energy. Similar to Baby Vegeta's Big Bang Attack from Infinite World.
Iron Slash: Gar performs a powerful, chargable slash with Katantetsu. Similar to Future Trunks' Shining Slash from the Shin Budokais and Infinite World.
Iron Cannonball: Gar forms Katantetsu's plates into a cannonball and fires it forward. Replaces Mako Shot upon using Shikai: Adapt.
Iron Blades: Gar forms Katantetsu's plates into two large circular blade and throws them forward one after another. Similar to Frieza's Death Saucer from the Shin Budokais. Replaces Iron Slash upon using Shikai: Adapt.
Iron Barrier: Gar spins Katantetsu's plates around himself, knocking any too close opponents back. Similar to Pikkon's Hyper Tornado attack from the Shin Budokais and Infinite World. Only available upon using Shikai: Adapt.
Iron Pillar: Gar forms Katantetsu's plates into a puddle on the ground, then commands them to rise up suddenly. Only available upon using Shikai: Adapt.

Ultimate Attacks:
Mako Blade: Cinematic Ultimate. Gar knocks the opponent into the air, then back to the ground. He quickly holds his hands forward and fires a powerful two-handed Mako Shot. If Gar wins the power struggle, the opponent leaps into the air to dodge, but Gar will meet them in the air with his sword drawn. He slashes them repeatedly, before performing a point-blank Mako Shot. If the opponent wins, they are hit by the first blast.
Iron Rain: Cinematic Ultimate. Gar punches the opponent across the arena, his plates flying up into the air. He runs forward and engages the opponent hand-to-hand for a bit, before smirking and saying "Gotcha." At that moment,  Gar leaps back and the opponent looks up to see the plates seperate into dozens of tiny metal droplets that immediately plummet down as needles. If Gar wins the power struggle, the opponent is hit by the needles, causing them to fall over. If the opponent wins, they quickly duck and cover, getting hit but minimizing the damage.

Entrance Quotes:
"You know you can't win."
"You're a hundred years too early to beat me."
[vs Sheena] "You sure you want to do this?"
[vs ZeldaFan] "[sigh] Not again..."

Victory Quotes:
"Not so smug now, are you?"
"What a shame... I thought you'd be more of a challenge."
[vs Sheena] "Uh... h-hey, are you alright?"
[vs ZeldaFan] "Phew... close one..."

Agaranok:

Costume 1: Black and red armour.
Costume 2: Black suit.
Costume 3: Black suit sans jacket, with sleeves rolled up.

Transformations:
None.

Special Attacks:
Dark Moon: Agaranok gathers black/purple energy into his hand and then throws it forward. A black/purple version of Dabura's Hell Blitz from the Budokais, Shin Budokais and Infinite World.
Dark Barrier: Agaranok bends over, gathering energy, before releasing a black/purple dome of energy from his body. A black/purple version of #17/#18/Cell's Energy Barrier from the Budokais and Infinite World.
Dark Blade: Agaranok holds out his sword and slashes with it, launching a short-range shockwave from it. Can be charged to perform three slashes. Similar to Janemba's Rakshaa's Claw from the Shin Budokais and Infinite World.
Dark Claws: Agaranok forms purple claws on his arms and perform a powerful combo with them. Pressing the button repeatedly will increase the number of hits delivered.

Ultimate Attacks:
Dark Void: Cinematic Ultimate. Agaranok knockes the opponent into the air, then back down to the ground. He holds his arms to his sides, gathering dark energy into them, before firing several of them at the opponent. They veer off, forming a circle around the opponent as a glowing rune appears on the ground beneath them. If Agaranok wins the power struggle, he will summon dark chains to hold the opponent down, and darkly say "This is the end... Dark Void!" as he brings his hand down. A black/purple dome will suddenly explode out from the centre of the rune, and Agaranok will clench his fist to signal it to explode. if the opponent wins the power struggle, they will leaps into the air and slam Agaranok into the circle. He will realise what's happened and attempt to get out, but will be too slow and will be consumed instead, screaming "No!"
Dark Puppetry: Cinematic Ultimate. Agaranok will knock the opponent into the air, but get kicked back down when he tries to follow them. He'll shout "Damn!" and look around; he'll spot someone and state "You'll do..." and release purple threads from his body to grab a bystander. The character will turn around at the last second, just in time to see the threads coming...
ZeldaFan: "Huh?"
Sheena: "What the-!?"
Naru: "Hm...?"
Nara: "Ah!"
Gar: "Hm?
Kestin: "H-hey!"
David: "What?"
He will then absorb them, becoming a stronger "Dark" version of that character, with Agaranok's voice. Two of their moves will replace Dark Blade and Dark Claw, and a new Ultimate will replace Dark Puppetry, but otherwise he will retain his movelist.

Entrance Quotes:
"Hmph... let's begin."
"Do not expect me to hold back."
[vs Susan] "Well then, shall we go?"
[vs ZeldaFan or Gar] "Hmph. Show me what you can do."
[vs ILS or Diablo] "You intend to fight me?"

Victory Quotes:
"Such a dissapointment."
"I'm sorry, but you simply weren't good enough.
[vs Susan] "Heh heh... better luck next time."
[vs ZeldaFan or Gar] "As I thought."
[vs ILS or Diablo] "Was that some sort of joke?"
[as Dark ZeldaFan] "Hm... she's stronger than she lets on."
[as Dark Sheena] "Such... strength...."
[as Dark Naru] "I... probably won't get used to this."
[as Dark Nara] "A kitsune, hm..."
[as Dark Gar] "The sword won't listen to me... interesting..."
[as Dark Kestin] "What on Earth is this trash that he listens to!?"
[as Dark David] "How has he managed to learn so much?"

Thanks. I don't know much about Bleach, but from what I understand the spirit of a zanpakuto and it's owner have some sort of spiritual bond. So I presumed that if Agaranok stole Gar's body, Katantetsu wouldn't obey him.

Sheena Nebilim:

Costume 1: Red t-shirt and black shorts.
Costume 2: Black t-shirt and brown shorts.
Costume 3: Black bikini.
Costume 4: Red and white dress.

Transformations:
Knuckle Buster: Sheena activates her knuckle busters, increasing her attack by 25%.

Special Attacks:
Up And Over: Sheena uppercuts the opponent, then punches them back down. Similar to Gohan and Great Saiyaman’s Justice Punch from the Budokais, Shin Budokais and Infinite World.
Quake Punch: Sheena punches the ground, causing a large spiked part of earth to lunge forward.
Focus Punch: Sheena readies herself, then lunges forward with a punch. Similar to Ginyu’s Strong Jersey attack from the Budokais, Burst Limit and Infinite World.
Painful Sky Leg: Sheena jumps into the air and performs a falling axe kick, sending a short-range shockwave out.

Ultimate Attacks:
Unlimited Strength: Cinematic Ultimate. Sheena punches the opponent away, then crackes her knuckles and slams her fists into the ground, causing a shockwave that launches the opponent into the air. She readies herself, then hits the opponent as they come down, sending them flying into a cliff face. If Sheena wins the power struggle, they become imbedded in the cliff face, so she runs forward and leaps up, planting both feet onto the opponent and causing the cliff to collapse on top of them. If the opponent wins, the bounce off the cliff and fall, Sheena catching them on her fist.
Giant Spike: Real time Ultimate. Sheena leaps into the air, then slams her fist into the ground, damaging anyone too close. Similar to Broly’s Giant Spike from Shin Budokai 2, Burst Limit and Infinite World.

These comments are just getting monotinous, what with them just being ways for me to say how good you are at this.

But seriously, I really like it. I mean, some of the special attacks are attacks I've actually had her use before, so it's cool to see them there. The ultimates are well written, and the quotes fit her character.

Just... I don't know what to say anymore. Awesome, awesome job. *Thumbs up*

To commemorate his return:

Hawk:

Costume 1: White shorts and red t-shirt.
Costume 2: Grey shorts and blue t-shirt.
Costume 3: Orange hazmat suit, minus helmet.
Costume 4: Yellow hazmat suit, minus helmet.

Transformations:
None.

Special Attacks:
Magnetic Repel: Hawk holds out his hand and fires a spread of metal junk at the opponent.
Rail Gun: Hawk produces his railgun and fires 20 weak-but-rapid shots from it.
Nanobots: Hawk spreads his wings and releases a silvery cloud from his body. Contact briefly stuns and damages the opponent.
Resonance Rush: Hawk produces his HF Blades and performs a brief one-two combo with them.

Ultimate Attacks:
High Frequency Resonance: Cinematic Ultimate. Hawk charges forward and slaps his opponent around a bit, kicking them away. He charges once again, kicking them away hard. If Hawk wins the power struggle, he'll chuckle while looking down on them at the bomb his kick planted onto their chest. The opponent will start to wake just as he presses the trigger, causing the bomb to beep and then explode, sending a large pulse out from the location. If the opponent wins, Hawk charges for a final time, but is smacked away. The opponent approaches a downed Hawk, but he grins and flicks the trigger, setting an emergency bomb underneath them off, catching both in the explosion.
Hell: Cinematic Ultimate. Hawk throws several bombs at the opponent's feet, blasting them back, before using his magnetism to form a huge metal girder to drop on them. Perspective will shift to Cain's point of view, as he scans the area and locks onto the girder, then to a shot of the space station readying it's laser. If Hawk wins, Cain fires the laser directly over the opponent, before widening the beam and creating an explosion that may destroy the planet. If the opponent wins, they manage to throw the girder off at the last second and make a run for it, just getting caught in the aftershock of the attack.

Entrance Quotes:
"Heh heh... you look tasty..."
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you TOO bad."
[vs Yuki] "...if you say so."
[vs Phoenix] "Well... this is awkward..."
[vs Face] "Shurrup, you little cretin!"

Victory Quotes:
"Ready to give up?"
"Heh heh... what a shame..."
[vs Yuki] "Damn it... I knew this was a bad idea..."
[vs Face] "Scaly little git..."

You've done a good job, actually. You've tied in most of the attacks I use regularly, so it's great. <v< Only two notes: No full-power rail shots? And there isn't a victory over Yuki quote, which'd probably be something approaching pure panic over what he's done. <V<

What's the difference between normal power and full power?

Also, there is a victory over Yuki. Maybe the reaction isn't all that accurate, though.

Damn, sorry. Phoenix. <v<

Though the one you have for Yuki is fine.

Well, the move you've got would be normal. Full would be long range, but one shot. Massive recharge time.

Ah, I see. I'm not quite sure the full-power rail shot would work in the Budokai series. Might work as an Ultimate, though.

Nara:

Costume 1: Usual outfit
Costume 2: No shirt

Transformations:
None.

Special Attacks:
Sonic Kick: Nara kicks fast enough to cause a sonic boom, sending an invisible blast at the opponent.
Accel Strike: Nara dashes forward a short distance instantaneuosly, causing a 9 hit combo to strike the opponent if they're between his starting and ending locations.
Kitsune Clutch: Nara lowers his stance. If he is hit by any physical attack in this stance, he will deflect it and grab the opponent with his tails, breaking there neck.
Accel Kick: Nara performs a high roundhouse kick. If the opponent is hit, they are suddenly hit by what seems to be an additional 9 strikes before being kicked away.

Ultimate Attacks:
Max Accel: Cinematic Ultimate. Nara charges forward and kicks the opponent in the stomach, followed by a spinning kick to the chin and a blurred punching combo to strike them in midair before kicking them away and rushing at them with an intense speed. The power struggle begins when Nara knocks the opponent into the air and ends when he charges at them. If Nara wins, he hits them once; in the face, and he keeps going, moving so fast that he shoots out the arena, across countries, over oceans, around the planet, and then back to the arena where he slams fist-first into a huge rock wall, crushing the opponent's head. If Nara loses, he simply performs a fairly powerful combo as the continue flying, pummeling them with punches and kicks.

Entrance Quotes:
"Hmhm... let's begin."
"Hm? You wish to fight me?"

Victory Quotes:
"Well, that was certainly entertaining."
"Hmhm... better luck next time."

[has watched that scene on Youtube] That's not what Nara's ultimate is like. Nara's ultimate is that he hits the opponent, and then keeps running, carrying them with his punch. Even so, I'd never seen that before you pointed it out. Don't try to make it seem like I'm ripping off things I hadn't even seen before.

Title: Re: TIA movelists

I'm not saying you're ripping it off, I'm just reminded of that scene because of him running around the planet. It's not a criticism, and I didn't realise he carried the opponent around the world with him.

Nestor Asimov

Costume 1: Green armour.
Costume 2: Brown armour.

Transformations:
None.

Special Attacks:
Repulsor Beam: Nestor holds his hand out and fires a translucent beam of energy from it.
Missile Blaster: Nestor opens two compartments on his shoulders and fires two missiles forward, one after the other.
Rocket Upper: Nestor activates a jet on his arm and performs an enhanced uppercut with it. Similar to Bardock's Heat Phalanx.
Booster Tackle: Nestor activates the jets on his suit and charges forward. Similar to #16's Rocket Tackle.

Ultimate Attacks:
Photon Cannon: Real Time Ultimate. Nestor summons a gigantic cannon and fires a huge purple beam from it.
Great Magnetic Field: Cinematic Ultimate. Nestor bursts forward with his suit's jets, performing a right-left-kick combo, knocking his opponent to the ground, before he opens up several hidden compartments on his suit and lauches a barrage of missiles. The Power Struggle begins when Nestor flies forward and ends just as he reveals the compartments. If the opponent wins, they backflip out of the way, but Nestor quickly flies down and knees them in the gut, causing them to collapse. If Nestor wins, the opponent raises their arms to protect themselves as the missiles explode around them, before Nestor shoots down and slams his fist into the opponent, releasing a powerful shockwave through them and the ground.

Can't say I was expecting this, but it's pretty good.

I have to ask, though, where does the brown armour come from?

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Davidk92 on 02 July, 2011, 05:39:19 pm
Nowhere in particular. I just needed a recolour, and since Nestor's outfit is green shirt/brown trousers, I felt brown was the best choice.

I'm not too particularly fond of this one, since I'm still undecided on whether or not he should have been regular at first with the armour being a transformation. I'm not sure it was a good idea to post it, especially since I feel it lacked character.

Also, I've been getting much too frustrated with the quotes for each character. I'm considering just leaving that part to the creators.

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Gargravarr on 02 July, 2011, 05:42:25 pm
I have to say on occasion I imagine a Dojo fighter game with Dissidia-style gameplay, and I have the same touble of deciding whether he should always be in armour or save it for his EX Mode.

It'd be easier if it was a Smash Bros-style game, because then he could just have a similar mechanic to Samus/ZSS.

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Davidk92 on 02 July, 2011, 05:49:14 pm
But the transformations in DBZ Budokai aren't like EX Bursts or ZSS. They're much simpler and a core part of the gameplay, able to be done with a simple button press, so I felt it would make more sense. But I was conflicted since he almost always fights in his armour now.

I'm starting to think it was a mistake to post his movelist. I think I should have waited until after I thought about it more.

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Gargravarr on 02 July, 2011, 05:57:08 pm
Trouble is, I'm not really sure what else he could use for a transformation. I haven't designed any kind of second level or powerup for the armour. At least not yet.

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Davidk92 on 02 July, 2011, 05:59:52 pm
Oh, there are plenty of characters who don't use transformations. I just didn't know whether or not it should be one for Nestor.

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Gargravarr on 02 July, 2011, 06:04:09 pm
Ah, I see.

So are there any rules behind these transformations? I mean, what are they actually for?

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Davidk92 on 02 July, 2011, 06:10:25 pm
They increase the characters' stats; usually attack or defense, but I've included some that increase other aspects like speed or other effects, like Hinata's Byakugan draining energy.

One thing they all share in the original game is increasing Ki Bars; every character has 7 bars of ki, which are needed to perform special moves. Each character also has a certain number that their ki will slowly rise to if they have less, and will slowly drop down to if they have more. Transformations can increase that number, making it easier to use Ki.

Of course, there are some characters who don't have transformations, but it usually doesn't weigh them down too much. Budokai 3's system was very balanced even with this gameplay feature, something most anime-based fighting games lack.

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Gargravarr on 02 July, 2011, 06:14:34 pm
Is there any downside or limit to using them? Only it sounds like a charcter with a transformation might as well just activate it at the start of the match and stay in that state.

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Davidk92 on 02 July, 2011, 06:19:26 pm
I don't think so. In Budokai 1 and 2, the concept of Ki was slightly different, with characters in Base form (ie, nontransformed) have Ki that didn't rise or fall unless either attacking or powering up, but transformations instead rapidly draining their ki while active. The changed the system due to some characters in Budokai 2 being in their transformed states from the start (like Frieza and Cell), meaning they had constantly draining ki and nothing they could do about it.

I do know that in Budokai 3 the transformations required a certain amount of ki to even be activated, usually more than their base amount. As such, they had to do at least a little bit of fighting in their Base form before transforming.

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Gargravarr on 02 July, 2011, 06:23:57 pm
Ah, I see. So in Budokai 3 being in a transformed state doesn't drain your ki?

Title: Re: TIA movelists
Post by: Davidk92 on 02 July, 2011, 06:26:17 pm
No; as I said, the Ki system was reformed so it only drains if you go above your number of ki bars. Transformations were much more beneficial as a result.

Yuki:

Costume 1: Red dress
Costume 2: Blue dress

Transformations:
Hikari: Yuki calls upon the power of Amaterasu as the kanji for "light" appears above her. This grants her a yellow aura and a 20% increase in attack.

Special Attacks:
Hi: Yuki holds her staff into the air, summoning a ring of fire around her as the kanji for "fire" appears.
Kaminari: Yuki holds her staff forward and fires a lightning bolt as the kanji for "thunder" appears.
Do: Yuki slams her staff into the ground, causing a large crag of rock to shoot upwards in front of her as the kanji for "earth" appears."
Kaze: Yuki swings her staff into the air and fires a blast of cutting wind, as the kanji for "wind" appears.

Ultimate Attacks:
Hikari no Tsurugi: Cinematic Ultimate. Yuki waves her staff, forming the kanji for light in front of her, before firing four swords made of light at the opponent, pinning their limbs down. She then raises her staff into the air to summon a colossal sword of light above them, which slowly begins to fall. If Yuki wins the power struggle, they opponent can only watch helplessly as the sword lands on them, stabbing into the ground with the chance of destroying the planet. If the opponent wins the power struggle, they successfully break free of the swords and dive out of the way, being blasted back by the shockwave of the giant sword hitting the ground. Only available while "Hikari" is active.

Entrance Quotes:

Victory Quotes:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Angela:

Costume 1: Black dress, blonde hair
Costume 2: Red dress, black hair

Transformations:
Blood Upgrade: Angela bites into Vivi and wipes some blood from her mouth, gaining a slight red aura and a 10% increase in attack.
Blood Frenzy: Angela bites into Vivi and snarls, hunching over and gaining a very strong red aura as well as a 30% increase in attack and 20% decrease in defense.

Special Attacks:
Ignis: Angela holds her hand out and launches a fireball. With Blood Upgrade active, the fireball is twice as large.
Glacie: Angela holds her hand out and fires a shard of ice at the opponent. With Blood Upgrade active, Angela fires 3 shards in a spread.
Fulmen: Angela holds her hand out as it crackles with electricity, shocking the opponent if they're too close. With Blood Upgrade active, the electricity shoots forward slightly, increasing it's range.
Havoc Wing: Angela forms a large bat-like wing on her shoulder and "slashes" the opponent with it. Replaces Ignis while in Blood Frenzy mode.
Blood Rising: Angela forms batwings on her back and flies upwards into the air. Replaces Glacie while in Blood Frenzy mode.
Nosferatu Rush: Angela charges forward, "slashing" wildly with her arms. Replaces Fulmen while in Blood Frenzy mode.

Ultimate Attacks:
Lux Et Tenebrae: Cinematic Ultimate. Angela smacks the opponent around a little, before blasting them away with a blast of magic. She calmly rises into the air, firing several orbs of light at the opponent, but instead of hitting they simply float around the opponent. Angela will then start to gather dark energy into her hand. If the opponent wins the power struggle, she will fire a beam of dark energy at the opponent, which they will leap into the air to dodge only to be assaulted by all the light orbs at once. If Angela wins, the opponent will charge as Angela fires several orbs of darkness, which almost immediately "connect" to the light orbs with black and white lightning. Angela will laugh as the opponent is trapped between the light and dark orbs, which promptly slam together and explode with the opponent between them.
Nosferatu Frenzy: Cinematic Ultimate. Angela charges at the opponent and punches them in the face, sending them flying. She immediately flies after them, overtaking them as she kicks them away again, before following and stomping them into the ground. She stomps on them a few times before kicking them into the air, after which she appears above them and slams them back down. If Angela wins the power struggle, she will land and fly at the opponent in an erratic zig-zag pattern, before suddenly appearing before them and flying straight through them, using the silhouette-on-red-type screen. If the opponent wins, the same will happen, but they will be able to dodge Angela's dash at the last second and kick in her in the back of the head, cancel Blood Frenzy mode.

Thanks. I noticed whenever Yuki used an elemental spell, the kanji appears on her forehead, so I thought using Japanese names would make sense.

How did I do with Angela's Blood Frenzy mode? I didn't know much about it, so I took a few liberties. Is it okay?
