If it's true they're aiming for around 30, then I hope that they start around 35 or so and offer DLC later that isn't too expensive for what they are. Like say six characters for 4.99 or something, it's alot better than four stupid alt. costumes in SFIV.

Even with only 35 characters they'll probably be able to accomplish more unique, interesting, and worthwhile characters than they had in MvC2.

Bad news for Spider-Man fans, apparently Activision is going to be a dick over the copyright and we won't be seeing him in this. It's worth note though that MvC1 has copyright trouble with Iron Man and ended up putting in War Machine(And an alt. form that resembled Iron Man's palette), so in my belief Venom will likely be in to substitute and it may open up possibilities for other Spider-Man characters.

I admitted that having Frank in both games would be a bit silly, though I love Frank.

And Viewtiful Joe is notable enough, and from a series which matches enough to be in a fighting game. The way they did him in TvC was so... Awkward, but if they can make him a more viable fighter, I don't see the problem.

There may well be, what, 15 characters per side in this? There are 9 Capcom characters known, and the only characters so far who've been in both TvC and MvC3 are Ryu, Chun-Li, Morrigan, and VJ. Unless Frank has been confirmed, and then that would be silly, but it'd still be only two re-used characters. Technically 5, but I know nobody's going to complain about Ryu or Chun-Li or Morrigan, because they're practically staples, and are all from fighting games.

He was way out of place in TvC.

I disagree. He still looked goofy, but he's clearly based design wise on the kind of Japanese characters/heroes that Tatsunoko made and such, which fits him in to a degree. In MvC3 he'd lack that connection and would just look goofy.

Don't try coming up with "real" reasons why he shouldn't be in. It's stupid. You just want your favourite characters in more. Leave it at that, it's all that needs to be said.

His helmet, outfit, and design are reminiscent of Hurricane Polymar's, whether it was intentional or not, there's still a degree of similarity. There's nothing too my knowledge of mainstream Marvel characters that he fits with. And there's several characters I'd like in over Dante and Chris, but I'm not arguing against them, because both of them (Dante moreso) fit far more than Joe, and neither have had spots in Vs. games before.

Who even cares about his outfit? He doesn't look as lame as Marvel's characters do so they should exclude a character who can fight and has fans? Nobdoy on Marvel's side is a wolf either.

And operating on a standard that if they've been in a VS game before they are almost instantly less worthwhile than someone who hasn't is silly.

To those who play fighting games online: Is it par for the course to have people frequently complain about who you want to play as?

One time, however, I got a guy yelling at me and telling me that I sucked for no good reason.

Let it be known. That it was in SSFIV. And I main Vega. VEGA. CLAW. Who is widely considered to be one of the worst characters in the game, tier-wise.

And I beat him. It was a shutout. He accused me of spamming the EX Flying Barcelona Attack + Izuna Drop, as it hits on the way up and can be comboed into very easily. In fact, it's one of the few attacks that Vega CAN combo into regularly.

And yes, it was Xbox LIVE. So that also attributes to it.

Makes me think of RDR online where most of the things people complain about can be combated by playing with people you befriend only/just worrying about yourself (people hacking for unlockables, none of which really affect how powerful they are; griefers, etc.).

But yes, that's LIVE. LIVE can be looked at as being an actual place; if you wouldn't want to play a game with random people (randoms) in a public place (Public Free Roam for RDR), then don't do it in the game. Find people who you'd like to play with or who don't use characters you hate, then add them as friends. It would be like hearing someone complain about people at a night club all acting the same way; go find some people you like to be around like everyone else has to.

Yeah, once I played this guy named like uhh...DaKidd64 on SSFIV. I had Guy and he had Akuma, and he actually helped me out on getting past fireballs through messages. It was awesome. It was like a real-time tutorial...if that makes sense.

He still kicked my ass, but we've like sweeped Team Battle Mode together numerous times.

I have PSN and a mic.... But I usually don't have anyone to play....

Much of the people I play on PSN are generally great people sans the assholes on MGO.

The only person who was a dick to me was because I didn't talk to him due to my head set wasn't charged.... After I told him he apologised and was really nice to me....

C.Viper is just a very generic and bland character that seems to only exist as a take that to SNK designs, even though we already have Dan who's just Ryo with Robert's head and a pink gi. I would take Rufus, Seth, and Hakan over her anytime and anyplace, who actually fit well with the comic theme. Especially Seth, since he's basically Dr. Manhattan with a black hole in his stomach.

Except he's also probably the most hated character out of Street Fighter IV. <_<

More or less, we're getting two Wolverines again. This really perplexes me though, if you're going to only reveal one new character, why not someone more notable like say....um....Spiderman? I love how they do that and then continue to reveal characters that do nothing except support the leaked list and have not revealed a single character who is not on it yet.

As much as I'd like to support that roster, just the fact that Dormammu isn't on it and then having Mr. Fantastic on the roster when we have Super Skrull on it already(Which is outright redundant) makes the list already lose tons of credibility, it may look similar because it might've been a leak of an early roster in development and alot of characters may have been replaced or added.

I also love how it nonchalantly just says "Except Dormammu I guess", like it's not supposed to be a big deal.

Considering the list got Trish, Amaterasu, and X-23 right, Dormammu really isn't that big a deal, and only makes it rather likely that the first thing you said is true, which will still probably only change a couple of characters. I'm willing to bet that several more revealed characters are going to be characters on this list.

To be quite honest, they should've used Lady Deathstrike if they wanted a clone of Wolverine.

I was thinking of doing the same, but I honestly can't decided who's is my favorite. Cap America, Doom, or X-23.

Albert Wesker: Sheer brilliance. “Winds of Madness” was an utterly fantastic theme for Wesker in the first place, and they somehow made it better with the added guitar. Easily one of the best tracks in the game as of yet. 5/5
Amaterasu: Like Wesker’s theme, Ammy’s “The Sun Rises” rises was already an amazing song, and the dance version of it used for this game is amazing. 5/5
Arthur: Pretty good. It’s nothing particuarly special, but it succeeds in what it does. 4/5
Captain America: I have to admit that I like his original MvC theme better, but this it great nonetheless. As a theme for Capt. America, the techno seems a bit out of place, and not necessarily as heroic as it could be, but as a song by itself, I love it. 4.5/5.
Chris Redfield: A decent theme overall. Not much that makes it really shine, but a good theme overall. 3.5/5.
Chun-Li: Like some of the others, this is okay, but nothing makes it really stand out. It's a bit generic compared to the others. Not many risks are really taken, it's just a generic techno-ish version of her standard theme. 3/5
Dante: I've never been a fan of DMC, but I can see this song fitting Dante well, and it's pretty well done overall. Not my favorite, but it's good. 4/5
Deadpool: For some reason, I really like this song. The lyrics are sporadically Engrish, and it seems so bland and generic, but I can't help but love it. I can imagine putting up a pretty fun fight as Deadpool to this. 4.5/5
Doctor Doom: I have mixed feelings on this one. The beginning is a bit odd, and it sometimes feels like it's leading up to something that never happens, but it's still a good one overall. 4/5
Dormammu: I can see this theme fitting well, but something feels out of place for me, and I can't quite figure out what it is. It's okay, but not the best for the supposed Big Bad of the game. 3.5/5
Felicia: I'm just not a fan of the two Darkstalkers themes, to be quite honest. I can't really get behind the beat very well, the beginning is a bit annoying, and nothing really jumps out at me. It's not terrible, but it's not very good. 2.5/5
Hulk: Some parts of this song sound lovably corny, and it retains some of the feel of the classic MvC songs, which may or may not be a good thing. Not something that I'd regularly listen to out of the soundtrack, but a good one nonetheless. However, not sure if I can say that it really fits the Hulk, but it fits better when you consider the context of the game it's in. 4/5
Iron Man: Man, I was disappointed with this one. The first 20 seconds of it or so are fantastic, and then the song is completely butchered by odd auto-tune/synthesized voices, and the song seems to take a completely different direction. It's a bit better when they fade away, but those voices just kind of killed whatever mood was left. 2.5/5
M.O.D.O.K.: Like the character, this theme is just goofy, but it has a sort of catchy-ness to it, despite the silliness of it, especially when paired with the character. Not bad. 3.5/5
Magneto: I really like this one. The guitar's pitch seems perfect to me, in the oddest of ways. The little auto-tune voices aren't nearly as bad as they were in Iron Man's theme, but they still sound out of place. Overall, however, I still like this theme quite a bit. 4.5/5
Morrigan: This sounds way too music like something from MvC2, which isn't necessarily a good thing. It starts off okay, but just becomes corny. Like I said, I'm not a big fan of the Darkstalkers themes. 2.5/5
Ryu: I've been hearing people give this one a lot of crap, saying stuff like "this is musical garbage" and "it sounds absolutely nothing like Ryu," but I have a secret fondness of it. I'm glad to hear Capcom taking a bit more risks with the theme, instead of sticking with the traditional/generic theme for the character. It does sound overdone at points, but I don't think that it deserves the hate that it seems to be getting. 4/5
Spencer: As much as I don't care for the character, I can see this theme fitting him well. The guitar remind me of Metal Gear Solid at times. It's nothing special, but it's not bad. 3.5/5
Spider-man: Morrigan's theme ought to take lessons from this one, as it sounds like a blend of old and new at the same time. There's a lovable corniness to it, but then again, Spider-man's character has that same exact quality. One of the better songs on the soundtrack. 4.5/5
Super-Skrull: I'm not the biggest fan of this song, but it fits the character very well, being a chaotic, yet somewhat cartoonish villain. It's decent overall. 3.5/5
Thor: Ugh. This is just awful. The wind instrument that it used just makes the whole thing sound odd. It fits the Asgard stage, but it doesn't feel powerful at all, like Thor's theme should, given the character. Probably the worst song as of yet. 2/5
Trish: I don't know much about DMC, being not the biggest fan of it, so I can't really say if this is a fitting theme or not. It seems okay, but I'd never go out of my way to listen to it. 3/5
Tron Bonne: Another one that I'm not a fan of. I can see how some may find it catchy, but it just doesn't do much for me. Might be better if the character wasn't as useless to me. 2.5/5
Viewtiful Joe: Really, Capcom? How could you butcher this one so badly? It starts off good, but just feels incomplete after a few seconds. Joe's theme for TvC was perfect, and they took so much out of the song. I was very disappointed with one, it feels like half of the full song. I appreciate the risks taken, but they just didn't work. 2.5/5
Wolverine: This one is just too lovable. It sounds like the theme for a Power Rangers series. And it's awesome in that regard. A good theme regardless. 4/5
X-23: This one seems very odd.. It's an okay song, but for an anti-social, wrist-cutting reject, it doesn't really sound like a good match at all. It seems a bit generic at parts, and I can help but snicker at the lyrics at times. It's decent overall, I suppose. 3/5

Looking at it, the sad thing is that it's probably real. Seth kept talking about being able to expect more female characters, as well as a character that was "unlike anything he had ever seen before," i.e, Howard the Duck.

And I could just be biased, but She-Hulk doesn't seem to be quite as overpowered as regular Hulk. Though I guess that doesn't really matter in this game.

Seriously, I've really been starting to hate DLC in general these days.

I've had my share or problems with it.

Like two month delays.

At least it's no one important that's DLC. This particular instance of it is pretty bad because they could totally put them in the game anyway, but hopefully in the future they make use of it to include characters that weren't going to make it originally, who are also less lame.

Besides, the special edition that has them is only $10 more than the normal version, and has other extras as well. It's barely a big deal.

If they still want to make money off of DLC, they should have people pay $10-$20  extra right off the bat, then release considerable updates every 2-3 weeks (new characters, new modes, etc.).

No one should have to wait so long for a lone character. No one.

This sounds really, really good IMO.

But what if you don't want to spend $20 and get all of it? What if only a couple things interest you? Like, two characters or something.

Besides, I like that at the moment I can get a card to buy an actual game or something, and I'll just have change left over to nab some crap at my leisure. Having to commit to DLC is silly.
