What does it mean?

The Bane Chant? I heard its Arabic for "He rises".

I was hoping someone would just say "Rise," like Alfred did in one of the trailers. I didn't say "What does that mean?" though so it's all good

I've been avoiding trailers like the plague. I don't want the movie spoiled for me.

It's the same trailer that had that chanting from your first post though

The chanting is in all the trailers as far as I know. The only trailer I saw all the way through was the one where Alfred said, "I've buried enough members of the Wayne family".

It's only 90 minutes til I get to see it and the anticipation is killing me!!! Uggh.  I'm just proud I've managed to avoid the spoilers

Make sure to post after you've seen it, but before everyone else has too.

Despite certain flaws, this was a good movie.

Um, yeah, guess I'll go with this since I don't really have much to say about it after having seen it.

They didn't have to make some things so obvious. But there was that hammer fist to batman's face

Could've done with fewer new characters, I think.

I liked all the callbacks, though.

Except how heavy-handed some where

*People in theater laugh when Bane puts hand on guy's shoulder*

*couldn't understand what he said*

*felt left out*

I couldn't understand what he was saying half the time, bro

Batman saying WHERE IS THE TRIGGER over and over again was lol especially with Christian Bale's Batman voice.

That voice is always lol, even more noticeable when talking with Catwoman.

I laughed when he said that. He just had to maintain the same voice even when he was alone.

Is it like this, but with me?:

He would act like he's perfectly fine with it, only to be hiding the Hulk within him.

Also, I find myself randomly quoting Bane. I also hope someone has made a M. Bison + Bane "Of course" video.

Not quite Bane, but my favorite quote has to be, "Very well, I sentence you to DEATH! ... By exile."

It's funny watching Inception after this movie, watching Blake team up with Bane to beat Scarecrow.

I was really pleased with the Cillian Murphey cameo.

I've never not enjoyed him being in a movie. Though admittedly I've only seen him in 3, he always kicks ass in them.

It was a little bit obvious that he showed up but Joker didn't, but I certainly respect that they left Mr. J out.

Well, I went and saw it. Yeah, I understood Bane's voice most of the time, and Bat-voice was as lol as always.

Honestly though, I think the thing that hurt the movie most was the prison sequence. Every time I looked at that thing the voice in my head was going "I've seen freeclimbers climb up inverted surfaces. Anybody who can make basic rockclimbing equipment should have no trouble getting out of this place." And that kinda killed my immersion for the rest of the movie.

I thought that was kind of off too. It's like, no one ever thought to train in jumping before? Maybe do a couple practice jumps on level ground?

I actually had a more fundamental beef with those scenes. Namely, there should be no need to jump. The architecture of the well remains the same all the way up, with cracks for handholds and ledges of stone going all the way up to the edge. Hell, even if you needed to get to the broken ledge, you can just pull a classic platformer and climb sideways.

Yes. Oh, most of the rest of the movie was good, but the prison sequence kind of permanently broke my suspension of disbelief, and I never got it back for any of the idiocy of the rest of the movie.

I may have to watch Batman Begins again, but wasn't a major reason why Gotham is such an epic craphole because the League of Shadows already tried to destroy it by messing with its economy?

So, basically they turned a mess into an even bigger mess, then blamed the people?

I think the point was "We were going to destroy Gotham, but those pesky philanthropists (read: Waynes) interfered! So we had them killed. But Gotham did not die, and instead grew worse! We have come to finish the job!"

Ah. So once the League decides a city has to go, that's that. No matter how much it might be improving.

So I haven't seen Batman Begins or The Dark Knight, but somehow my girlfriend convinced me to go see this.

I hated it.

Now don't get me wrong. I think it was a good movie.
I just didn't like it.

It was too different from the Batman I know and love, too different from what I want out of a Batman movie.

I was a good movie. Writing was decent enough and all the visuals were cool.
I just hated it.

I know you don't like the TDK Joker, but personally I'd recommend at least giving Batman Begins a go sometime. It works as a standalone film and it feels the most like a traditional Batman story. To me, at least. The other two are good movies, but I think BB is my favourite.
