Title: John Dies At The End Post by: Choronzon on 25 July, 2013, 05:15:06 pm I first saw the movie while flipping through Netflix one sleepless night. Next thing I know I'm on my 5th viewing, telling each of my friends and roommates that its a weird trip, but so good. I get the feeling a lot of them still think I'm pretty much insane or have terrible taste in movies. Either way, I then managed to scrape up the cash for the book.
Holy ****! Has anyone else read that thing? My brain is still reeling from whatever kind of f-ed up trip that was. Now I'm turning my attention to the sequel, "This Book Is Full Of Spiders." Title: Re: John Dies At The End Post by: Random on 25 July, 2013, 05:16:47 pm I heard the movie was disappointing.
I love both of the books, though. Title: Re: John Dies At The End Post by: Choronzon on 25 July, 2013, 05:22:48 pm I feel that watching the movie first helped to introduce me to the world. It took a lot of thinking to try and fill in the blanks, though. I just finished the first book yesterday, however, and I can honestly say I haven't been this excited about a series in a long time.
Title: Re: John Dies At The End Post by: Random on 25 July, 2013, 05:34:03 pm I can see how that would be the case.
And yeah, I'm not sure if I would put one book over the other one. You don't really even have to read them in order, although there are some oblique references to the first in the second. I like them a lot, though. Pretty creepy, very funny. Title: Re: John Dies At The End Post by: Ƨɒlƚy on 25 July, 2013, 08:47:46 pm I watched the movie. It was decent, but I liked the epilogues the most. |
