Pfft, Grindhouse was the worst excuse for a movie I've ever seen.

How can you say that?  It was the movie event of the year.

*facepalm*

I thought it looked stupid too before I saw it but I'm glad that my one friend talked me into seeing it with him.  It was one of the most fun and well made movies I've seen.

It's an homage to the "Grindhouse" style of movies of the 60s and 70s.

The really over-the-top B-movies that couldn't be shown in regular theatres.  Stuff with obscene amounts of blood, gore, sex and nudity, language, dark themes, bad acting and whatnot...

It's mostly just over-the-top, self-indulgent movies.

What Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez did was just remake the feel of those movies (complete with a double feature that Grindhouse cinema was most known for) and poke fun at them and generally have a good time.  The movies are not to be taken seriously at all.

Ahh, okay. I might try it, I don't know. It's not my kind of movie. But then again I love laughing at B-movies. Like the Evil Dead Triology.

It's a little too late to experience it.  The movie was ruined when Death Proof and Planet Terror were announced to be released on DVD separately.

This is why this topic is here.

So basically people are trying to petition it because seperatly it ruins the value of "Grindhouse" movies?

No.  It ruins the value of the movie "Grindhouse".
