http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Colbert_presidential_campaign%2C_2008Steven Colbert is currently running fo the the office of President of the United States as a member of the Demopublic Party (Democratic/Republic). I know he's doing it jokingly, and that he has a snowball's chance in hell of winning. But it's still by far the most interesting thing to happen to a Presidential Election in a while.

Reminds me of when Coluche tried to be president in France ...
If you ask, Coluche was a comic, but also a man of action. He created Les restos du coeur, an institution giving food (and more nowadays) to people without place to live or too poor. He retired from the election, but he was the favorite according to many people.
