*SOME SPOILERS*
The only episodes that have to do with Spike's life are 5, 12, 13, 25, and 26. For Valentine, 3, 15, 18, and 24. Jet has 10 and 16, and Ed has 9 and 24. That's 11 episodes/26 that have to do with story. The rest are their own stories, all doing nothing with the pasts of the main characters. Some of them make light of the Gate accident that wipes out earth, but they just basically have to do with each episode's bounties.
So in conclusion, CB has 18 plots.
