Huh. I didn't know that. Naoto Oshima made all the best characters. He designed the original Sonic and Eggman, he was the director for Sonic CD, so he probably made Metal Sonic and Amy, and he was behind the original character concept of the Chaotix and perhaps Knuckles.

I didn't know he made the Chaotix as well.

Don't think so. It doesn't look like he had any involvement with Sonic 2 at all.

Probably because while Naka was off making Sonic 2, Oshima was making Sonic CD at the same time.

That's also why I think there was a Silver Sonic in Sonic 2. Naka heard Oshima was making a Sonic doppleganger for his game, so he thought he'd nab the idea for his own.

What would you guys think about a major shift in Sonic games along the lines of most of the original characters gone and a new villian? Maybe like a new line of continuity and a new take on level appearance while playing much like the original games....

Unless the new villain is Metal Sonic and those characters are gone because Metal killed and ate them, I don't know how I'd feel about that.

I was thinking like Megaman X.... Have it set in the future, Sonic some how gets frozen and it would have contained metal sonic seeing as he's a robot so he can't die....

Although the future does contain Silver....
