Yeah, but with Sonic Rivals, you aren't necessarily given freedom. I mean, you can move around freely in that game, but it'll be incredibly stupid if you do, because there isn't anything to go back to. This trailer at least LOOKS the same. Hopefully it'll be different though.

How often did you go back in the first level of Sonic Rush? :|

The difference between Rivals and Unleashed judging from the video is that Rivals is a generic hold forward + jump button occasionally game with nothing except that, and Rivals has unpolished gameplay and simply looking at it reveals the glitch-fest and how un-smoothly it controls.  While Unleashed may focus on holding forward with the occasional jump, or pressing a button to activate a stage hazard, it also focuses on chaining boosts across the level and maintaining your charge so you progress smoothly and quickly, and also relies more on reflexes, like Rush.

Or at least that's how I see it.

Whatever, I still see a lot of similarities between Unleashed and Rivals, except that Unleashed at least looks better.

Wow, one day into the announcement (or leak, for a better word), and we're already arguing/discussing. >_>

My hype for this game is actually growing back. Grin

By the way, should I use this as my avatar?

It's Samuel L. Jackson as he appeared in Black Snake Moan.

Moar nooz

Quote from: NeoGAF
Sonic the Hedgehog returns for a full-blown, action-packed adventure through the desolate and unpredictable World of Mubuz, a world dictated by an evil Dragon Lord, Immarius.
Upon entering Muboz, Sonic fights an evil power which turns all the inhabitance into dangerous beasts.

1. Become Wolf Sonic and fight enemies like never before using rapid combo manouvers and Ring Energy
2. Play as Sonic, Knuckles or Tails through 12 packed stages
3. Extensive gameplay brings 2D Sonic gameplay back to home consoles"

"SEGA Confirms a release in 2008, 2D-Gameplay and, so far, 3 playable characters-only
Our surces indicate a presentation during SEGA Gamer’s Day in May at “E3 Time” and reveal a worldwide Launch in November 2008. We have tons of more info on SEGA Gamer’s Day, a possible OutRun 3 and … the Release of Yakuza 2 and 3 in the West. Stay tuned, guys! "

http://www.sega-magazin.de/segaon/

K, that plot sounds a little silly, but whatever, and SEGA seems more interested in every world that isn't the one Sonic's supposed to live on. Maybe they're trying to phase out the humans?

Anyway, Wolf Sonic, I don't like the concept, but it might add something new to the gameplay.

Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles being the only ones playable = win.

Only 12 stages? :(

But anyway, I didn't know SEGA had a Gamer's Day as well, how many companies do this? Capcom's in April and SEGA's in May. The next few months should be interesting :|

Wolf Sonic keeps making me read that as "Wolf Link" or "Wolf O'Donnell". <<

But, Tails being playable = Awesome.
