He was still ugly as sin.

But Metal Sonic is still badass and awesome.

And yet Metal Sonic is sentient and has upgraded, able to nab the data and powers of other characters, thus making him the superior version.
Besides, even with his super form, Mecha was defeated by, not Sonic, but Knuckles.
Metal Overlord took Super Sonic and Pseudo-Super Tails and Knuckles to be defeated.

Just because SEGA pulled a dumb move and used the CD design doesn't mean he's better than Mecha whom SEGA could've used instead. Mecha could've been all of that instead of Metal, so all of that technically doesn't matter. Besides, even with his super form, Mecha was defeated by, not Sonic, but Knuckles.
Better than getting beaten by a ****ing wall. Also Knuckles was actually on par with Sonic back in those days.

Yeah, well Knuckles is awesome so that's a given. >_> Plus, like 911 said, he was on par with Sonic. Knuckles actually did a surprise attack on Super Sonic.

Proves SEGA dropped the ball on developing Knuckles, rather they actually de-developed him....

Arguing about which is better is pointless though, considering who actually made more than a single appearance, and developed an actual personality. And got a movie with him as the main villain. And a game with him as the main villain. And an enhanced port that features him as the final unlockable. And a lame racing game that has him do good deeds. Better than getting beaten by a ****ing wall. Also Knuckles was actually on par with Sonic back in those days.
He was beaten by a wall once, and then later transformed into a super ultimate dragon overlord thing that required 3(?) superforms to be defeated. And he didn't even need any Emeralds. And how do you know Knuckles was on par with Sonic? All he did was hide behind silly traps. Launching a surprise attack is cowardly tbqh.

Techinally it was one super form, and two normal forms. Golden bubbles don't count as super forms.

Maybe they just changed Tails and Knuckles' super forms.
And if they weren't super forms, they weren't normal forms.

However, in there original appearances Mecha had more similar qualities with Sonic than Metal, plus he was actually fun to fight not have a stupid race with him. As I have said SEGA chose Metal over Mecha because they were obviously on crack.

Fighting is fighting, no matter how you put it. I guess ninjas are cowards for using surprise attacks too. >_> Techinally it was one super form, and two normal forms. Golden bubbles don't count as super forms.
That's what pissed me off in that scene. I was expecting Knuckles' and Tails' super forms to come, but instead we get lame bubbles.

Mecha having more in common with Sonic doesn't make him better than Metal. Besides, you don't even know Metal couldn't spindash in CD. Maybe he didn't want to. I certainly wouldn't use a spindash to speed up if I could use a boost of fire.

Using a spindash would have possibly helped against that wall >.>
