A Whim of Hope: Subspace Emissary

Chapter 1: The Beginning

A smash ball appeared, and a Red suited plumber and a Yellow creature looked at each other briefly. They darted for the Smash Ball punching a kicking each other away from it to grasp it for they're own. A thunder bolt beamed across the stage and a smash ball disappeared in front of a now surprised plumber. "Piiikaaaa..." said the creature while charging a huge amount of energy. The plumber got into a stance ready for whatever was about to come at him. "CHUUUUUUUUU!!!" echoed the creature, as the lightning surrounded him in a huge ball of electricity. It flew at the plumber at an amazing speed. The plumber jumped quickly out the way of the first attack, but wasn't expecting an immediate 2nd attack. The creature what seemed to be a flying thunderbolt tackled the plumber downward into the ground. "CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" It seemed to scream, while releasing the remaining electricity into the air causing a slight explosion. The plumber flew from the stage. An un-scaved Pikachu appeared from the smoke. "Pika, Pikachu" it exclaimed with a hint of joy in its voice.

The plumber floated down from a carrier with a look of defeat in his face. He dropped down from it and walked over to Pikachu, and stood and waited. A few seconds later a R.O.B unit appeared next to the two. It raised it's head up and shot a huge projection in the air. It read "Winner-Pikachu, and the Loser Mario". Mario huffed in defeat and shook Pikachu's paw. The crowd roared at the sportsmanship of the two. A what seemed to be portal appeared, and Pikachu turned to it. Waving its tail and saying it's good-byes pikachu walked over to the portal and disappeared back to his world. Mario walked over towards a blonde woman sitting next to a few short servants with mushrooms for what seemed to be hats. Mario walked over to the Woman, and stood next to her.

"That was a very good match Mario!" One said. "Wasn't that the best Princess Peach?!" Another said. Peach giggled and kissed Mario on his nose,"It real was" she said. Mario blushed, and took off his hat in a proper gesture. He looked around the now leaving crowd. Something caught his eye though. A strange creature or person was in the sky, watching them. Mario looked harder at the being but before he could get a good look, an explosion came from a distance. In a habit he jumped in front of Peach protectively, looking at the explosion site. "Take'a Peach to the Castle" He said while he darted over to the explosion site. The toads did as they were told and took the princess to her castle in a hurry. "Be careful Mario!!!" she shouted at her many times savior. Mario looked back to confirm she was gone and continued back towards the site.

He arrived after a few minutes, and looked into a what was now a crater, with a strange purple meteor in the middle. He carefully examined it. It wasn't a normal meteor for he's seen them close hand in his quest saving peach in a galaxy. The meteor was glowing, and seemed to be bleeding out a purple fuzzy like substance. They began to form together into making an army of little purple creatures. They had the look and aura of evil around them. Mario got into an offensive stance. He counted about 40-50 of them. "Yah" he shouted as he jumped into what was soon to be the beginning of an end.
