I don't worship him like a bunch of people, he's certainly not my favorite musician, but I quite like a good amount of his songs. And things like image and issues addressed never matter to me when it comes to listening to music, those are trivial IMO (at least for purely listening purposes).
I meant to say, ignoring the meaning of a song and listening to it solely because of how it sounds is like ignoring the lyrics to one. There were other "rebel" artists who weren't just "I'm cussing and flicking off the camera, so I'm cool." What they said in their songs or what they meant actually contributed to how you listened to it. That Fela Kuti song "Water no Get Enemy" is an example. |

ignoring the meaning of a song and listening to it solely because of how it sounds is like ignoring the lyrics to one. this is something else I do. The only song who's meaning actually mattered to me in the song itself was Tool's "**** With a ****", only because I feel so strongly about the "issue" it talks about. Spoonful by Cream |
