You know, I find Bleach in its current state much better, objectively, than it was before... But I have so much less interest in keeping up properly.
I dunno I guess reading each new VERSUS GODZEN chapter and seeing wtf random ass thing happened was more pertinent than decent pacing and more likeably written characters and better everything (even action) is.

Don't blame you. I'd be the first to admit that I'm a bit of a Bleach fanboy, sticking by it and enjoying it even at points when it seemed like no-one else had a single good thing to say about it, and even I thought those last 20-30 chapters before the time skip were lousy. |

Hm? A special chapter of Bleach? http://mangastream.com/read/bleach/98980820/1Does this mean the upcoming movie could probably be taken as being canon, similar to One Piece's Strong World? Also: On a side note, I wonder if Szayel and Aaroniero were the only Espada to end up in Hell... That would mean the others were somewhat decent people before they become Hollows. |

Which is why I'd be surprised if it were the case. Actually, forget Yammy, Nnoitra's the first one that jumps to my mind as being another candidate for Hell.  I don't even know if Strong World is canon, so I can't say.
Some people feel it is, as it's the only movie written by Oda himself. And then there's the special chapter that was released in the manga, similar to what's happened here. Although I guess it's never been officially confirmed... |

The canonity of animation-only Bleach things isn't really as doubtful as with a lot of others, considering Kubo likes to participate in their creation. I think the afro soul reaper guy's sword release was shown in some filler before showing up in the manga.
