Ariya ducked when the fire was released, but upon discovering that instead, the ship was taking fire itself, she understood that staying here would be a very bad idea, as not only are there cannons and cannonballs, but also black powder, with all that entails in such a situation. Still, grabbing a pair of balls, she retreats back under the aft castle before it is too late.

(Going to bed, it's about 1AM and those 30C are killing me)

Diablo growled and instantly began to follow her, before his boot stepped into something soft. Blinking and looking down, he saw some of the aforementioned black powder... as his Hellfire flicked in the air and brushed against it.

"Oh, for f-"

BOOM.

Even from her relatively secure hiding place, she felt the power of the blast hitting her, scraps of wood flying around as part of the inner structure was promptly disintegrated. As for Namazu, he is somehow discovering the life of flying fishes, crossing the past of a falling mast on his way up.

A normal opponent would be eliminated swiftly after such an explosion, but clasher are renowned for their toughness, and the fight is most probably not over yet. Taking what's left of the stair leading outside, Ariya surveys the expected return of Diablo.

A low growl came from the other side of the hole as Diablo slowly dragged himself out, his cape burned and tatted and his body covered in soot. It was hard to tell, but judging from his slow movements and the way he was staggering, he was probably in a lot of pain.

"You..." he growled, turning to face her. "You bitch..." In his true selfish manner, he was refusing to accept that the explosion was purely due to his own stupidity. He held his arms out, pointing them to the ground as a glowing red rune formed beneath his feet, pulsing with power as he prepared a summon.

As expected, the demon not only survived, but his rage becape almost physically felt simply looking at him. It was clearly time for getting serious, too, as a summon circle made its appearance. A quick glance around allowed Ariya to locate the falling fish, approaching the ship fast. It wa perfect for her as she deemed that instant to be the one where she would show her skills.

Jumping high, she would begin her own ritual, a simple one. Shouting "Together as one..." first, she would make contact with her mentor, liberating high magical energy as the fusion process is starting. It goes fast, nearly in a flash, but one could see the fish and the human mix each other before the girl's silhouette reappears, slightly changed as part of her co-fused kept its appearance. Upon landing, Catfish Ariya would then finish the formula that caused it all. "... powerful as many!"

Whatever appears, she is now certain to be able to deal with it.

The rune beneath the devil's feet erupted with demonic energy, which quickly coalesced into several bodies, forming his summons. However, instead of a mighty creature, Diablo was surrounded by ten or so tiny demons, each one less than a foot tall. Each one had skin in a shade of either red, pink or purple, small horns on either side of their head and a little pointed tail on their rump.

"Huh? Oh, come on..." Diablo groaned. He looked at the Little Devils for a moment, before shrugging his shoulders. "Whatever. Attack her, kids!" he ordered, pointed at the fused fish-woman dramatically.

The Little Devils looked at Diablo, then at Ariya. Then back to Diablo. The one nearest kicked him in the shin, making him jump in pain.

Ready for mostly anything in her combat stance, the unexpected did however come, and she couldn't stop her smirk at the current situation, it was definitively funny to see those little pests attack their master.

Funny, but not exactly what she'd want either, as letting these do would remove part of the glory. Instead, she raised her leg in a split high to her head, before crashing it downward on the wooden deck. Hitting a single plank on its extremity, she bended it on the impact, letting the power put in her leg push forward to force a lever effect, rising said plank... beneath the small offender, catapulting it far, far away! If this isn't going to get the other ones's attention, then surely those creatures are very stupid.

The tiny demon was promptly launched through the air, a high-pitched cry echoing across the ocean as it vanished over the horizon, a little tinkle in the sky forming as if to confirm its exit.

The other Little Devils all stared at the sky where their companion vanished, before immediately turning to glare at Ariya, their bodies igniting with hellfire formed from their rage.

Diablo smirked. "Heh heh... well, beggars can't be choosers. I think you'll come to regret that..." he said smugly, as the Little Devils quickly spread, three rushing straight at her while the rest fanned out to prepare to fight.

Looking at the advancing formation, the answer was obvious to her. Both in combat and to her opponent's comment: "So, since I am not begging, I can choose? Neato!". It was soon followed by her juggling one of the iron balls blocked by her left arm to her right hand, letting the second roll it its opposite, so she could throw both of these toward those advancing, taking two down with the heavyweight getting in their face. As for those circling, with her hands free, it was now time to show the extend of her fused power, the impressive quakepalm. Getting on her knee, she thrusts both hands toward the ground on her side, creating two lateral shockwaves powerful enough to almost cut the ship in half, sending demons, wood, cannons and supplies alike across the sea like if the inside litterally exploded! This would take care of most menaces, but there was still one demon rushing at her and no time to properly greet him however...

Loud squeaks filled the air as the Little Devils were sent flying from the ship, landing in the water and scattering them. The all briefly panicked, splashing about as they tried to get their bearings. The final Little Devil kept running, refusing to be intimidated by her display of power; it quickly slipped through her legs, before backflipping into the air and clinging to her back. "Gotcha!" it yelled in it's childish voice.

Diablo meanwhile, was watching from afar, his eyes wide as he witnessed the power of this fused form. Little Devils were individually weak, but were powerful in large numbers. The remaining Little Devil wouldn't be worth much more than a distraction, and it would take too long for the others to make their way back. Carefully turning while she wasn't watching, the red demon quickly sprinted down the stairs below deck again.

Poor little demon is indeed mostly condemned in such a situation. A simple drop on her back and... what's that smell?... Burned... Oh my, Ariya's caught fire because of the flames surrounding the little pest! Flailing aimlessly at first, she finally focusedenough to realize that there's a lot of water around and as such, she took a run before diving from the deck, plunging underwater, dousing the flames.

From here, things went worse even for the evil. If on ground, it already had next to no change, in water it is an utter massacre and the bubbles rising from such a beating are not leaving any doubt about it. Soon after, a de-fused Ariya emerged, as the power attained its limit, the summon nowhere to be seen. Seeing that no one was waiting for her, she went to the opened side of the ship, rising on broken planks to reach the massive hole caused beforehand, leaving her catfish companion in the salt water (which surprisingly, he doesn't mind). Whatever Diablo is preparing, she better get ready for it now.

As she climbed back on board, a very strong, pungent smell bombarded her nostrils, as she noticed the deck stained with a brownish-orange liquid and shards of glass scattered around the deck. Diablo had retreated to the upper deck, by the helm, and had half a dozen glass bottles gathered by him, one of which he casually chucked near Ariya, narrowly missing her as it hit the wood and let out a loud smash, scattering more of the glass and liquid around her. "Oh hey, you're back! Didn't think the Little Devils would be much use after you scattered them, but they did enough." He chuckled, tossing another bottle at the deck she stood on, though this one several feet away from her. Was his aim THAT bad?

What a loosy throw indeed! "Hey, is that because you drank too much alcho...hol...". Her eyes widened at the exact time she understood the trap set in front of her! Immediatelly, she dove back toward the exit... but was it fast enough?

(Also nota bene for myself: check that the post is actually posted next time)

Diablo just grinned, as pretty much the entire ship between the two of them has been doused with the rum and alcohol he stole from below deck. As she turned to run, Diablo tossed a ball of Hellfire in a lazy arc towards her, striking the stained deck and instantly setting it alight.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it is Ariya flying out of the way, this time her pants on fire, leaving a fiery trail as she got back in the sea, definitively better for her health short term. Up until now, damage were limited to the upper part of the ship, but in its current state, the galleass is sure to sink in a relatively short time. This also mean that soon, the fight will be continuing in water only, which is to her advantage in a sense, but still not won nonetheless. Swimming around she looks for the largest floating debris to avoid tiring herself too much in the water, while watching the flames rises.
