I'm breaking this "chapter" up for dramatic effect >_>

And because it's so damn long.

~~~
He was right at her; she could make out each Shine Sprite on his Hawaiian shirt. Her pale face reflected in his glasses; reminding Zelda that her only other option besides running was to stand there and be decimated in the most horribly painful way imaginable.
She backed away from Mario and bumped into someone; Zelda quickly turned to apologize and run. A kid wearing a red cap stood in front of her; the bill of his hat covering his eyes. Despite his overall innocent features, something about him was ominous; that, or course, was of only little concern for Zelda for Mario was in the same city as her, let alone within eyesight. She made to move past the kid only for him to step in front of her.
Mario's hand landed on her shoulder. Zelda's eyes closed; she let out a soft, apologetic whimper. Mario gently turned her around to face him; his smile was warm. He extended a hand to the kid as if to introduce him to Zelda; the kid showed no signs of welcome. Mario snapped his fingers and some Piantas quickly ran over and picked up Zelda's things. Mario motioned over to the other side of the plaza near an open-air restaurant, still grinning. The kid grabbed Zelda roughly by the arm and led her to the cafe; the whole way there, Zelda couldn't help but look around for someone, anyone to help her; all she saw were Piantas happily going about their business. There were a few who noticed that she was with Mario and at their realizing what was going on, they quickly averted their eyes and went back to their fruit stands and their cleaning.
Zelda and Mario sat down at a table; the kid stood behind Mario's chair. They were served drinks, yet they went untouched. Mario crossed his hands on the table and stared innocently at Zelda. Her lips quivered; she opened her mouth to speak and explain her situation only for Mario to hold up a hand to silence her. That same hand reached into his shirt; Zelda winced at what was to come. An envelope slid across the table towards her. Zelda slowly opened it to find a picture of her and Peach talking to one another somewhere in Corneria City. Mario knew.
