I suggest reading before saying that.

Rufus is perhaps the only new character that actually gave me some kind of feeling when I saw him. Sure, it was kinda "WTF" but at least he has something going on for him.
This implies that I might like Rufus. This whole rant is more about ragging on unoriginality in Capcom's design team, which it sucks tremendously when there final boss is Bald Gill. New characters can be good, I liked Asuka in Tekken 5 and I liked Alex in SFIII.

I've seen much longer. I just don't care about SF.
And after reading it, I have to say that in general, most well-known fighting games are getting more and more generic (To the point where you have to be told that the story and characters are interesting, like with Soul Calibur), and Guilty Gear is pretty much the only exception.

Virtua Fighter is probably the worst offender though, Tekken can have some interesting characters too.

I'm gonna say pretty much every fighter that has to rely on sex appeal (Which is sadly almost every fighter in the market today) are the worst offenders.

Those all sound more interesting than all four new characters to be honest.
Thank you, but I would really like to hear of some possible fighters taht would both fit in with SF's style and yet be original as well. And really, thank you very much; I wasn't even trying with those character ideas, my gosh. I've got loads of other ones.

I think a tall and skinny black guy with an afro in a purple disco suit that used Aikido and a pool stick would be cool. Vega uses a claw, so why not a pool stick?

While I'd like an actually cool buy with afro in a fighting game, he would most likely end up being painfully silly as with just about every other afro having guy in any form of Japanese media (Bushido Blade 2, Black Lagoon, and countless others; Samurai is an exception, however). Also, I'd make a character that is an eight-year old boy who was raised by parents stuck in a U.S.S.R. mind-set. He'd use Krav Maga (or some otehr eastern european fighting style). There could aslo be a character loosely moddeled after Ash from Evil Dead1&2/Army of Darkness. From now on in this topic, let's create unique, interesting ideas for fighters in SF instead of just going over the fact that the new ones suck (because that's already widely accepted).

An extremely tall man with green lizardskin boots, a green and black fur coat, with a large white cowboy hat, and uses a toilet seat as a boomerang-like weapon and throws flaming plungers.
