J is the best non-OG GBA game and is also getting a translation done soon. D is also good and far more challenging but has inferior animation. The other two kinda suck.

Alright, Alpha Gaiden get, who should I use, what should I look out for, and oh ****, do I have to fight Neo Granzon?

Yes, there will be Neo Granzon.

Who you should use will change a lot, I always just use whoever has the highest damage output at the time. You won't have a stable party for a while anyways.

Make sure to get most of the skill points if you want the final stages. You need all of them but 10 I think. They aren't listed in the game so you should use an FAQ to figure out how to get them. You also can't get Sanger unless you get a sufficient number of skill points since you only get him for the final stages. There's a few other secrets in the game but the only other useful one is Gundam X's secret attack that has a lot of criteria to obtain so just use an FAQ if you want to get it.

I didn't watch Getter Robo, so what do I with the Dragon and the Poseidon?

Dragon's **** evil.

Dragon is best used to attack enemies in the air and for killing bosses with it's final attack but isn't all that defensive or evasive, Liger is best for attacking enemies on the ground and has the highest dodge and movement, Poseidon is best for attacking enemies underwater and has the highest armor.

Daitarn 3 is awesome throughout the game actually, but after like stage 10 your entire party gets split up and you lose him.

On topic I just finished DDS2 after however long it's been since I started it. The final boss music is awesome.
