I skipped over Edogawa's dialogue almost every time he showed up due to it being long and pointless.
Fun fact: it's NOT pointless in this game. And every other lecture from any other teacher was equally as pointless, the thing that redeemed them are their quirks. And Edogawa was the quirkiest, and the most interesting, of them all.

Tch. Naive apathetic kids with no creative side to their minds, you're the bane of culture...

I did pay attention to Edogawa's dialogue in this, and the one time I really paid attention to it in P3 was when he was explaining the Arcana because it seemed relevant. Otherwise yes, every teacher was boring, but Edogawa would say the most.

All of your teachers must have been boring themselves, because really, those teachers are all fun little inside jokes for all of us with quirky teachers.

The Arcana explanation was the only relevant thing Edogawa ever said. He was still an ugly, deluded lump of meat fit only to be killed, too. But Ekoda was worse.

Never use this word as an adjective for anything other than yourself.

Never use this word as an adjective for anything other than yourself. He believed in magic. All magic. Ever. That's fairly deluded. The rest of the teachers were more or less defined by their quirks, but all of the teachers were two-dimensional characters.

And flat and static characters are by no means by default bad, especially when they take so little room.

Which he has had no experience of, so he is, by default, deluded. And I was just saying that in response to you saying they were inside jokes. They're not. They're completely heavy-handed and obvious.

Deluded or not, his fables that he believed were perpendicular with the "reality" that goes with the setting and scenario of the game. There is always logic behind a belief, and apparently, his logic applied to a satisfactory level with the setting.
Inside jokes are not by default aimed only at one group, rather in particular for one group. For those in that group, it's an added bonus, and once you've experienced something like this, it gains more meaning. For this reason, an inside joke does not need to be subtle by any means, as even when its obvious for everyone else, it bears special meaning for the target. They may be defined by their character where as real life teachers are never dominated by gimmicks, but... well, do you know what an exaggeration is? :-D
