i dunno about delays (actually never experienced any delays, and i had in fact experienced them in dark souls 1), but they did do away with button queueing from dark souls 1, which feels like a net positive

that game has some weird, massively-overinflated HP values on all its enemies early on that just levels off later on such that it ends up being much more tedious to play earlier rather than later, though. think the forest area you start at is like, the worst part of the game for that reason. at least most of the enemies in the first part of the burg in DS1 die in one hit to damn near anything that isn't a dagger or a shortbow
