I dunno. SH2's story is probably the best, and for personal reasons I can relate to James, though I think all of us can to varying degrees. But there's something about the other two games that make me refuse to choose amongst them. SH1 I still think was the scariest game out of the three while SH3 to me as a certain charm to it despite being very short. It's not like MGS where I can easily say "MGS3 > MGS > MGS2 > MGS4." Maybe SH4 will break that fluidity, but who knows, maybe I'll be big enough of fanboy to love that as much. >_>

Once again you give me reason to be proud of you, my son

All right, this is just irritating. Looking back I can probably tolerate one of the games not working, but as it turns out, my SH4 copy is more beat up than my SH2 one. I really should have checked to see if it would work before I exchanged my SH2 discs, because I can't find the receipt anymore. I really wish Gamestop would take the time to at least look at a used copy of a disc and see if it's scratched up. One game is enough, but two? Great. Money well spent.

I can probably trust Gamestop if I buy new copies of video games, but I don't think I'm going to go there again for used and old copies. This was actually my first experience with buying used copies with them, because usually I get better deals for used games elsewhere.

Play Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly. It'll vindicate the action of hating yourself if you're going through one of those teenage angst phases.

I remember renting that game once but not playing it for more than like 20 minutes. <_<

That was the right decision. Or a proper amendment to a bad one, but I'll be merciful in this special case.

I remember I was seriously disappointed with it. I had played the awesomeness that was Spyro 3 with my friends, and then that came.

Also, Ripto was the only boss battle. What BS. >_>

Anyways, I have compiled a list of horror games/franchises to play.

Penumbra
Fatal Frame
Resident Evil
Siren
F.E.A.R.

yeah i never finished RE shut up

And other games I seek to play are:

Shadow of the Colossus
Ico
Persona 3
Persona 4
Dunno what else lol

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who found it quite boring. At one point I thought someone stole it when I couldn't find the case, and yet I honestly didn't care very much.

Great thief trap: entice someone to steal Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly. They'll never come to your house again, unless they want to firebomb it.

****'s scary bro

Do you think that having bad accuracy for weapons or having non-intuitive controls is OK in a game regardless of intention, if it contributes to game positively (RE's tank controls)? Is it fair to immediately label these things as being negative?
It depends on the genre. I think tank controls work best in a horror game, though I'm sure they can work in another kind of game. And the whole "no manual aim" thing never really bothered me except when Harry just randomly shot in the air when an enemy was right in front of him.

Actually come to think of it, RE4 technically had tank controls, but it was just much more comfortable given the camera angle and ability to aim.

I know some people who were turned off the minute they played RE, and I admit that I was too, but it takes time to get used to it. After a while it's fine, really.
