I'm about to just start playing. I came back from college for spring break.

I started my perilous journey. Died a bunch of times. I managed to beat the first boss, who was actually pretty easy. At least he was easier than the path to him.

Love the feeling of finding a new bonfire. Also the feeling of accessing shortcuts.

I'm playing as a warrior. It felt weird entering the world not having a clue as to what I needed to do. I managed to push through everything though, as tough as it was. After beating the first boss, I rewarded myself with a greatshield. Really gonna need this thing after using some dinky crap as my starting gear.

I really enjoy the visuals of the game. Majula seems like a cool place. I find myself returning there often. It is much like the Nexus, but it isn't so claustrophobic. It feels like the best of the Nexus and Firelink Shrine put together. Emerald Herald seems pretty cool too. I hope she has some plot significance throughout the game. As much as I liked the Maiden in Black, she didn't offer much besides a place to level up to. Something about the Emerald Herald is also more human, which I appreciate.

I'm not sure how I feel about losing HP every time I die though. I had to get used to having half my HP in Demon's, and that was a little frustrating. It seems like it's too heavy a penalty, and it feels like while the game is already inherently hard, sometimes From is just adding some extra things to make it even harder for the sake of reputation. Still, I'm getting used to low HP anyways.

Regardless of my complaints, I'm really enjoying it. Will probably pick back up tomorrow. This seems as good a place as any to stop for now.

So despite what I said I decided to continue playing even though it's currently 6:40 am lolol.

I found giant "resting peacefully." I was confused for a bit and concluded that I couldn't do anything in that area just yet despite the pain I had gone through to get there. I turned around and went back.

Then I remembered there was another locked door nearby. I unlocked it, followed the path up to the next boss. It was the Pursuer from before. Somehow seeing him as a boss rather than a typical enemy made him seem more bearable. Then again I was also stronger, so that might've been it too. I was strafing him, rolling around and dodging his attacks. He rarely managed to get a hit on me. I got him down to half his health and then...bam. He OHKO'd me.

So I went in a second time and beat his pussyass to the ground. Bitch didn't even touch me. mofo

Yeah, that was fun. I stopped by at Lost Bastille. It seemed like a very cool place. No doubt I would have fun here. I talked to Lucatiel. But then I saw the time and figured I should probably stop.

Also it really does seem like they're trying to bring back some Demon's Souls. Even the music, which although contains much of the same type of music as Dark Souls, is very similar.

I think the losing health works better in increments like this rather than all in one swoop. Like in Dark dying had little real consequences other than losing souls and in Demon's it was a huge hassle, but with this its a nice bit of you seeing the implications of your death bit by bit.

So have you guys found any particular enemy you can farm those human f'in-G's from? btw, I'll finally be starting the game later tonight.

I've gotten a decent amount without farming actually. I've noticed the dogs in Lost Bastille drop them though, if I remember fight.
