Oh? I must've just remembered making that connection between the candy on the show and that episodes true message.....that drugs are bad and just because everyone else is doing them, you shouldn't. |

if its the episode I think you are talking about, the concept is that Doug's Scout patrol needs to sell candy bars to buy new canoes. However, everybody hates the candy bars because they "taste like cement". Roger decides to take some regular candy bars and cover them in the old wrapper and give them out as samples so people will buy the candy. Doug and Skeeter then find that the ice cream man, Mr. Swirley (I believe) makes the candy as well, and when he finds out, he goes to see why they taste so bad. They find out that there is machine that is taking buckets of cement and moving them to another location in the building, and along the way it passes over the candy mixer, and dumps cement into it by accident.

The accidental cement spilling is an allusion to crack **** making its way into some packages of Cinnamon Toast Crunch in the mid 80s; kids started loving it a little too much.... |
