I may make a battle out of this....right now though, we just post the 50 most overrated films we can think of, and if you like, a reason.
1. The French Connection 2. The Godfather 3. Its a Wonderful Life 4. Citizen Kane 5. High School Musical 6. Batman: The Dark Knight 7. Scarface 8. The Matrix 9.300
1. The French Connection
My god...I can't count the number of places I've read that the chase scene in this movie was one of the greatest ever. Bull. It can't hold a candle to anything from Bullit and all he does is run over old ladies trying to follow a train in order to catch the guy.
What does he do when he catches him? Shoots him dead. Why? I know I don't care.

Italian Job > French Connection
2. The Godfather
I honestly just don't see what makes it elevated so much more over other crime/gangster type movies. Goodfellas and Reservoir Dogs were both better overall IMO.

Agreed to the max; I just mentioned how much I hated that movie to someone yesterday.

6. Batman: The dark knight.
It was a ****ing great movie, probably movie of the year even. But due to the untimely death of Heath Ledger, it was elevated just a BIT too much. I've heard a lot of people say that it's the greatest movie ever made. Which I think is just wrong.
Nobody will probably agree with this, but it's my opinion.

I was actually going to suggest that, but I thought people would be like "OLO THAT'S NOT A SERIOUS POST OLO"

7. Scarface
Not exactly my kind of movie to begin with. It wasn't bad at all, but recently it has been taken up by many, many people, thinking it represents the pinnacle of badass-ness. Again, while not bad, its become more of a modern cultural thing than a movie, and as an actual movie its only slightly above average.
8. The Matrix
I'm sorry, the plot is stupid to me. I've seen it many times, and I siply hate this movie and all it represents. The sequels were even worse, but most people don't consider them good, so I'm only nominating this one.

Floyd is the devil.
I SERIOUSLY DREAMT OF FLOYD BEING A KILLER CYBORG WHO RAN 10 TIMES FASTER THAN ANY NORMAL HUMAN, AND THEN KILLED MM, TURNED FEMALE, WENT AFTER ME, AND I DROPPED FROM THE SKYSCRAPER! IT HURTED, BUT I AWAKE CALMLY, THINKING I WOULDN'T SEE YOU AGAIN.

Not really, man; not really.

10. Superbad.
Very funny at parts, but I don't remember it being that funny. It didn't leave a lasting impression.
11. Napoleon Dynamite
This developed a bit of a cult following when I was in middle school, and it's a terrible movie.

as much as I enjoyed Superbad, I must say Pineapple Express was about 100x funnier.

its probably my favorite comedy movie to come out of the 2000's, and one of my favorite movies to come out this year.
