Shantotto as she appears in Dissidia:  Shantotto is confirmed to be pretty neutral in the conflict, but is more aligned with the heroes. She apparently has her own side story instead of being in the main story. It's probably safe to assume that Gabranth is more aligned with the villains, seeing as he's a villain in FFXII. And since he was only just revealed in a trailer today, Gabranth has no official artwork yet. |

huh, I had a feeling that they would bring characters from XI and XII in. Hopefully there will be some side characters from the games(maybe not as playable, but still in there), such as Tifa, Loche(Sp?), Maria, Farris, and such.

Sorry, but as far as I know, all slots have been filled. They wanted to keep it even for both the hero & villain sides. And the respective heroes & villains were required to have a strong conflict with each other. Shantotto & Gabranth are the exceptions, since they seem to have their own side-story. And even then, Shantotto seems to be more aligned with the heroes & Gabranth is probably more with Chaos than Cosmos. Also, Dissidia seems to take place in its own world, so chances are that the only time we might see the likes of Tifa or anyone like that is when the heroes are summoned & returned to their own world. And even that's just huge unfounded speculation. |

Well it's not really as if we don't already have enough characters.
I was happy with the roster even before they added Shantotto & Gabranth. Okay, so Gabranth hasn't actually been officially confirmed to be playable yet, but I don't see why he'd be there if he wasn't.
22 characters, and it doesn't seem like anyone's suffering from clone syndrome.
