I agree. I also think Will Smith would have been kickass.
I wouldn't pick him for this particular role, but he is much more of an accomplished actor than people give him credit for. His role in "Pursuit of Happiness" was good and while opinions differ on "I Am Legend" as a whole, he had to hold up that entire movie by himself, pretty much. I'd want Smith to play Capt. America if a movie is made for him; they could start it in the late 30s where they offer him, as a black soldier, the chance to fight for his country and get actual recognition and whatnot by going through with the administration of the Super Soldier serum. Then he'd get frozen for 70 years and wake up in time to team up with Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, and whoever. But Shia "The Beef"? Hell to the no.

In all honesty, it is possible Nolan could do something well with Murphy. The reason the past two movies are so good has a lot to do with Nolan's talent (I still believe that you could put anyone in Heath Ledger's spot and they would be just as good). I'm usually not the "lets all remain optimistic and see", but Nolan may have something up his sleeve, which is what I'm praying he does...
