Why do most anime openings/endings have a guy always in the middle of nowhere at night, looking up at the moon while his hair/cape blows in the wind? The camera zooms in to get a closer shot on his face and crap. Then the camera zooms into and through his eyeball and goes to another scene.
This puts me deep into thought. I ask questions to myself as to why the person is out there. "What the **** are you thinking about?" "What the hell is the moon gonna do for you?" "Why is the wind always blowing?"
I dunno...that crap always irritated me. Just like the guys in openings that walk toward the screen, but progressively goes nowhere in all actuality.
I know it's stupid but...whatever.

Really? I could never understand it. I'd never go out and look at the moon when I'm in thought. I know it's a cartoon and all, but...

What do you accomplish by staring at the moon? Does it give you power? Do you get insight from it? Does the moon offer you advice?
Why doesn't anyone stare at the sun? Why? WHY? WHY?
