The Golden Age arc has ended. I want to read more, but I think that this is the perfect place to stop, since I spent four hours reading 64 chapters.
I love how I've transitioned from "shitty Umineko anime" to "greatest manga ever."

But yeah, that town was pathetic, Puck is obligatory comic relief that just isn't needed, and that page was total QC fail.
As for Farnese...wellllll...you'll see.

The galling thing is that Jill's father was never killed. Nobody got what they deserve when Rosine of all people was pretty **** right about how shitty that town was.

Rosine was also living a fantasy about how she's special and doesn't have to have these people with actual problems and aren't perfect as parents. She was just as shitty as everybody in the rest of the town was. Jill of all people seems to be the only decent thing that town produced. And honestly, Jill's father was never important enough. Once Jill is done with him, he's left by the wayside to be forgotten again, and that's just as demeaning to him as being killed by Guts would have been. He doesn't matter to her, and that's her ultimate revenge on him. |

What of it? That's an addition, not a counterpoint; that doesn't change the fact that she was still right in spite of the fact that she's a myopic, selfish brat who is elevated to monster levels. And honestly, Jill's father was never important enough. ...and it's not nearly as satisfying as watching his brain and eyeballs get blasted out of his skull. I don't care about him suffering, or any silly, esoteric torture that the story could attach to him. I want the momentary catharsis that comes from his existence abruptly ending; it's the only good thing that an E-grade cast member like him could provide. |
