Yes, show, give me more reasons to hate Tatiana. From her bitchy attitude to her bitchy voice (I don't know whether to hate or commend Michelle Ruff for being such an authentic bitch.) to the fact that she goes out of her way to bitchly single out and bitchly mock Claus. If I was a character in this show, I would have punched her out cold a long-ass time ago. No wait, she's probably a badass in hand to hand combat, bordering on psychic, in spite of -- or rather because of -- her waifish frame. Fuck her.

oh lol Isshoni Sleeping

Speaking of, I think I remember another OVA featuring that girl, though instead of sleeping, she performs a bunch of exercises in various outfits.

so, much more entertaining and so much more worth your time and will not make you feel creepy at all

Finished Last Exile. I don't have much to say about it beyond the fact that it's actually pretty ****ing good. This is probably the first 8/10 anime I've watched since I watched Baccano! almost exactly a year ago.

EDIT:

Alright, with Last Exile out of the way, "Hell Month" can begin. My goal is to watch the 25 worst completed anime on MAL. The bottom 10 was just a stepping stone towards this goal. Now, here's the list:

25. Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned
24. MD Geist II: Death Force
23. Fish in the Trap
22. Canary
21. Tekken: The Motion Picture
20. Eiken
19. Kimera
18. Battle Spirits: Ryoko no Ken
17. 6 Angels
16. Kämpfer Picture Drama
15. Isshoni Training
14. Panzer Dragoon
13. Hanoka
12. University Girls: Special Counseling
11. Born By Myself
10. Vampire Wars
9. Aos
8. Isshoni Sleeping
7. Human Zoo
6. Apocalypse Zero
5. Armageddon
4. Garzey's Wing
3. Psychic Wars
2. Tenkuu Danzato Skelter Heaven
1. Mars of Destruction

So, I've only scratched the tip of the iceburg, so it's gonna be a long month. On top of all of this, because one of these is a special for a show that I hold near and dear to my heart, I shall be watching Kämpfer while I do all of this. Oh boy, oh boy, I hate myself already.

EDIT: I would go on to change Last Exile's rating to a 7. Whoops, bad call. Still, it was pretty good, so eh.

First anime for my new goal is Canary, #22. Canary is another 25-minute visual novel adaptation (I think the title is Song of Canaria), made in 2002 and sporting a look that would be antiquated by the standards of 1996. This is about a band that has its show scheduled in a town festival shut down and must contest some woman of vague importance (voiced by Yui Horie; this is pretty much a transparent vehicle for her) in order to play. More than anything else, this is a ridiculous slapstick comedy that jumps from place to place erratically and ultimately makes no sense whatsoever. This suffers from all of the flaws you would find from a 25-minute visual novel adaptation: characterization is virtually non-existent, the scenario is poorly established and pretty much everything is condensed to the point where following it is hard to do. It's yet another visual novel adaptation that assumes that the viewer knows all about it, and yet doesn't any depth to actually satisfy someone with any knowledge of the set-up. However, as stupid as it is, it does have plenty of chuckle-worthy moments, if only in a flat what kind of way, and it's ridiculous scenario is used in a way that actually makes it barely watchable and fortunately not in the crass way Apocalypse Zero approached itself. In the end, this is a below-mediocre OVA that is incredibly stupid and nonsensical, but enough for it to still be vaguely watchable. --- 4/10

---

Second anime is Hanoka, #13. Hanoka's main gimmick is that the art and animation are entirely done in Flash. Unfortunately, this isn't at a Venture Bros. level of quality, so the gimmick of this anime is entirely wasted on something that looks fit to be found on Newgrounds. Hell, what this is done in doesn't matter in the end, since the final product is dumb as a sack of hammers even without  the terrible design. First of all, every episode is 4-5 minutes in length, but each have a normal-length OP and snippets from the previous episode that take up a massive chunk of their content. From the start, we're down from 50 minutes of content to about 30. In the duration of these 30 minutes, the plot does nothing but become a mess of cliches (loli half-alien supersoldier fights furry, anti-industrialization aliens with her unintentionally trappy  soon-to-be-boyfriend), with a cast that could politely be described as anime stereotypes. Plot progression and characterization flip-flops at the drop of a hat. Every single episode ends with an incredibly cliched, insipid and predictable cliffhanger. Honestly, I would be complimenting this if I called it retarded. --- 1/10

Few notes: 1) Every single Hanoka video on YouTube has a comment from this faggot who spams shit like "you couldn't make this so shut up." It's adorable that this terrible piece of crap that manages to be uglier than those Adventure Quest ads actually has a single, retarded fan. 2) I found an episode of Cosprayers in the related videos bar. If you like Hanoka, then you might like Cosprayers! If you like Cosprayers or Hanoka, then you might like a clean mercy kill!

---

Third entry is Born By Myself, #11. This one is kinda tricky; first of all, it's not anime. It's not even on Anime News Network, which has an extremely comprehensive encyclopedia; essentially, if it's not on ANN, it either isn't anime or doesn't exist. I have no fucking clue why this is on MAL, but then again, I found My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic on there. Second, this is nowhere to be found outside of a download on the main page for the producer of this. Anyway, this is... kind of a fusion of claymation and stop-motion, and it's kinda neat in a weird way, but HOLY SHIT THAT FUCKING AUDIO. This is pure, absolute earrape; it actually deafened one of my ears for a while. Guess what rating this gets by default? --- 1/10

By the way, this anime had so few members who have watched this that my 1/10 has now placed it as the 9th worst anime. Uh, whoops? No, not at all, this is physical painful to watch.

I'm done for now. The first 1/10 I ever gave was to Mars of Destruction, because it was so stupid that it deserved it in spite of how funny it was. However, my time doing this has given me so many 1/10s that I've re-evaluated it and have given it a 3 because no matter how terrible Mars of Destruction is, it's light years ahead of some of the other things out there.

Today's anime is Armageddon (#5), a Korean anime (by Ahriman's shitty definition, it's not anime, so lol) from 1996. Essentially, it's basically a superhero anime where the protagonist is an avatar of a supercomputer (no joke) and fights against a race that wishes to kill all of humanity in order to inhabit Earth. It's as generic as that summary sounds, and then some. The biggest problem is that this is fucking boring as all hell; it has a run time of 85 minutes and it squanders all of them. There's nothing to glue my attention to the fucking thing; it's just horrifically generic, boring and a waste of 85 minutes. --- 2/10

On a miscellaneous note, this is one of the first terrible 90's anime dubs I've watched that actually has a recognizable voice cast by today's standards. I could spot Mona Marshall, Steve Blum, Wendee Lee and even Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, among others. Obscure and bad anime tend to have extremely cheap, local actors who only ever work on one or two bad dubs, so it's odd to hear familiar voices. That said, they don't do a good job, but in comparison to things like MD Geist and Baoh, it's serviceable. Also, considering that this was made in South Korea, a whole bunch of characters, the main one included, have flat-tops that are highly reminiscent of Kim Jong-il's infamous hair-don't; one kid was also fat and ugly enough to be able to pass off as him as a middle school student.

-----

I planned on watching other shit today, but I had some severe problems trying to find one of the entries on this list. University Girls is getting thrown off my list, so I'm not going to be covering any hentai for the entirety of this list (unless Fish in the Trap is hentai). It'll be replaced by the new 25th worst anime, Sword for Truth. But anyway, I wasted four hours of my day trying to download University Girls and failed, so I'm really fucking pissed and I don't want to waste another second of my day.

Claymore 115-116

- So, Raki is a badass now. One shot of him looked like he was using yoma energy. So, courtesy of Priscilla, he's now on par with a Claymore. Fuck that.
- The final weapon of the Organization are the re-animated corpses of three former #1's. All three of them are completely nuts (Cassandra hasn't revealed herself to be such, but considering that her compatriots are evil, she should be as well), too, but has there ever been a #1 with a balanced personality? Even Teresa was a bitch before she met Claire.
- I'm gauging their power like this: these guys should be be on par with Rafaela, and Claire curbstomped an archive of her about 25 chapters ago. Claire should be roughly on par with, if not weaker than, Miria. So, shouldn't Miria be curbstomping the one Claymore who is attacking her?
- All of these #1's look very similar to other characters. Hysteria is Renee, Roxanne is Luciela and Cassandra is Jean. Alright, I'm grasping with all of those, but I'm getting a lot of deja vu with these girls, kinda like Audrey with Galatea.

Though hey, I'll be honest, this is a hell of a lot better than that Priscilla bullshit.

Finished the Little Garden arc of One Piece. I have two problems so far:

1) So far, I don't like Baroque Works nearly enough to think that they deserve to be present for 90 chapters. Drum Island will be a change of pace, but I have no interest in that either and it's just going to transition into the 60-chapter Alabasta arc and... about twenty chapters after that ends, we have the 75-chapter Skypeia arc, and after a short interval, there's another 53 chapters in Waters 7, 56 chapters in Enies Lobby... When reading everything about those arcs, I don't fucking care about them. It may be better in context and I actually am interested in everything after those, but I'm looking at a 300-chapter wall of arcs that just don't sound interesting enough to warrant such length.
2) This scanlation. It's like it was run through an old photocopier and then stretched out to boot. There are pages in which I had no clue what was going on because this scanlation is absolutely gimpy. There are plenty of large cutoffs for numerous pages (not related to naturally thin panels, but they don't mix well of course). There appear to be coffee stains on the edges of a few of these pages. The translation is also of a below-average quality, but it's not too big of an issue in comparison to the Kuro arc scanlation. But... here's the biggest problem: I scanned the next series of chapters by increments of 5 up to chapter 200. All of them are of equal quality. I needed to use shrunken versions of these pages to improve the quality (hosted by that retardedly slow site from which I got the first few Berserk chapters) and I'm still have problems telling what's going on. It's kind of a chore to read after a while, and I since I read manga because it's easier to go through, that doesn't work for me.

It's still good and all, but really, this is going to affect my willingness to continue reading this and the pace at which I shall read this.

Today's recommendations are courtesy of Ahriman. You better fucking read these.

First anime of the day is the Panzer Dragoon OVA, #13. I have never played Panzer Dragoon, but from what I can tell (read: comparing the intro of Panzer Dragoon and a few other videos to this), this is an alternate version of Panzer Dragoon's story that basically shoehorns more traits found in bad one-shot OVA's into the plot and rolls with it. It's not the worst thing, since the Saturn version of Panzer Dragoon didn't have a plot that would coherently work in anime, but this doesn't do Panzer Dragoon any justice either. While the game looked and sounded impressive, this is just a generic $10K project from the 90's that is filled to the brim with QUALITY art and CGI and boring anime stereotypes. Essentially, you can't really make an anime out of the Saturn Panzer Dragoon without overhauling it and putting significantly more effort into this than just a 25-minute blow-off project. Honestly, considering that 2/5ths of this is a retelling of the opening of Panzer Dragoon, just go watch that instead of this. It's significantly more rewarding. -- 3/10

---

Second entry is Fish in the Trap, #22 and the lowest-rated pure yaoi (Kimera is also yaoi, but that also has an action bent) on MAL. Heheh, oh boy, oh boy. So, this piece of shit stars this kid named Matsui. He's a thoroughly flat character whose only distinguishing trait is that he's a bold-lettered uke, but he still manages to attract this older athlete named Yuuji. He's tall, handsome, rich out of his ass and a great athlete... oh god, this is already stereotypical as fuck. Anyway, Yuuji immediately gets a boner for Matsui, opts to abduct him and take him to a bar and introduce him to his thuggish friends, all of whom would be stereotypical, limp-wristed faggots if they weren't, you know, assholes. These guys are so obviously slimy that even Matsui could tell that they're bad news, so after being coerced to try out a few drugs, he gets the fuck out of there. After managing to run away from these guys, Matsui is stalked by two of these guys who manage to notice him in an arcade, and once the entire gang gets together, Yuuji accosts Matsui and rapes him. Soon after, back in that bar after leaving Matsui completely stripped on the ground, Yuuji has an epiphany and decides to leave this group. After this, we get a time skip where Matsui joins his school's swimming club and immediately runs into Yuuji, where we have this sort of "love at first sight" pan and... the show ends.

Can you count the ways in which this is fucked up? This Yuuji guy is a slimy creep who rapes this retard, and he's treated sympathetically, his act of **** is completely glossed over and he gets some sort of a poorly-conceived redemption. His friends are creepy as fuck as well and, while they represent the wrong crowd, they're treated in a way that's vaguely sympathetic because, you know, they're really handsome fags and yaoi fans like that. In general, this is yet another yaoi/shoujo entry that treats horrible people within it sympathetically when they're really horrible people who deserve to be punished. Beyond the terrible implications of the scenario, this does its best to be as stereotypical of a yaoi entry as possible, with two slow and drawn-out "sex scenes" (nothing explicit shown, though, just guys sticking their hands into unzipped pants and cut outs) and tons of longing gazes with corny porno blues playing in the background. It's fucking generic, uninspired and coy when it gets to its meat and potatoes, and completely stupid everywhere else. --- 2/10

---

Last entry is something that I hold near and dear to my heart: Isshoni Training, #14. So, apparently Hinako was a live-action hikikomori who was sucked into her TV after wishing she could be in anime. She has gained weight (hint: it's in her breasts) and thus she invites the viewer to work out with her. Not going to lie, the first six minutes of this OVA are so absolutely shameless that they're absolutely hilarious; those six minutes are so firmly entrenched in "so bad it's good" territory that I was considering giving this a fairly decent score for what it is. I would recommend watching those six minutes, actually. Thing is, after that, it just repeats her exercises for another 18 minutes after that with the same fucking insert song and clips. Any and all diversity exists only in the fact that Hinako wears different outfits on occasion, but most of time, she's wearing a slutty tank-top and short shorts. There are a few miscellaneous clips that are intended to pander to the viewer sparsed out through these 18 minutes (the last 30 seconds are just Hinako laying down, looking bored while counting... uh...), but for the most part, it's just the same clips, same sounds, same music... uh... well, fuck, it's just 6 minutes of gold and 18 minutes of nothing. This is definitely better than Isshoni Sleeping, but by a pitiful margin. --- 2/10
