So...um, finished Psycho-Pass, in the process of working through Aquarion Evol (don't ask, I just hate not finishing series) and still got to get through Aldnoah Zero.

At the urging of some others, I watched all of Steven Universe and am now current on it.

Finished Aquarion Evol since I last posted, I guess.

Also, I'm watching Michiko to Hatchin. Michiko is the hottest. Actually, a lot of the ladies are just straight up hot in this. Even Jambo.

Watching Kekkai Sensen (blud bluckawhoodabuttle or whatever the pleb name is for all you plebs).

Animation's alright, art and character design's better, and I enjoy the story well enough, but the real draw of this show is the chaos so endemic to it and the fact that it has fucking amazing music.

...Wait, did I just spot product placement for beer? What the flying duck

Finished Death Parade.

...That's some deep ****, mang.

Been watching Show by Rock. I don't even know why, I just can't keep from laughing at the thing. I mean, the OP's **** music, but then it actually has some solid rock in the episodes and oh my god i'm having an aneurysm.

So I finished Show By Rock.

...It might just be me, but I found the comedy relief guy band and their conflicts far more engaging than angsty teenage drama and the wholly predictable ending to the show.

So, I finished watching Seasons 1 and 2 of RWBY today.

Lot to say about that show. Mostly that I liked the music and fight scenes better than the rest of it.

So I...uh, finished watching Hamatora.

Hm.

Don't know quite how to put this, but...wow, that was incredibly shitty. I liked the first few episodes well enough, but once they got past the episodes that actually introduced characters the main plot arc was bad, the episodes were infested with random crap that wouldn't cut it in a bad gag anime, the back stories were terrible and terribly tied into the events, the last few episodes it got really murderdeathblood heavy out of nowhere, and the ending was just the stupidest ****.

And that's leaving aside all the terrible visual effects and animation.

I don't think I've ever been this disappointed by an anime...ever.

So in order to get over having watched Hamatora, I've been watching Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet and the new Gundam.

First, Gargantia. I haven't yet finished it, but I'm on the twelfth episode and to be perfectly honest I don't feel like I need to finish watching it to know what happens. Evil former boss man attacks fleet of people he likes, they fight, he wins (probably after his mech sacrifices itself), maybe all the other random idiots (the dumb blond, the great Titty Pirate) chip in to help, and yet another Gen Urobuchi series that started well ends with a whimper.

A pity, really. I like Ledo, and the major twist made, if not perfect sense, then at least enough sense that the subtle and then blatant foreshadowing tied into it into one long back chain of realization.

...aaaaat which point we get a robotic monologue to dismiss it and the emotional climax of the series is quickly discarded to focus on creepy cultists and Ledo rejecting the aping of his former culture in favor of this new place he's grown to like and view without the apathy that formerly characterized him.

And that would be a great plot arc! In the middle of a longer show. At this point, after the major revelation? It just kind of falls flat, especially when it's used for what they're trying to force into being the climax. Also, three episodes is just not long enough to introduce and then solve this whole plot.

As for the new Gundam? I really like that the opening theme and the main character duo, but if this is supposed to be a twelve episode anime they're really mucking with the pacing. I'm 5 episodes in and they've already wasted two mucking about with various emotions and world building instead of getting on with the plot and moving forward. It's still in the middle of resolving the first plot introduced. By the time this gets to Earth the series is going to practically be over, no time for twists whatsoever.

So turns out that Gundam series was 24 episodes and there were no twists whatsoever. Still, was kind of nice.

Also, I have found something entitled Cyborg 009 vs. Devilman and now I can't not watch it. Will report back.

It starts with two badass scenes and an opening by JAM Project.

So far so good.

First episode ends with the title characters punching each other's arms off and an ending theme by, again, JAM Project. Plot's thinner than paper, but I'll take it in return for the action and music.

Episode two was mostly a whole lot of nothing besides setup for the third episode, but there was at least some sweet cyborg action to tide me over.

So, third and presumably last episode. Still more paper-thin plot nonsense, but there's a ton of action and the big bad evil final boss dude has a pretty sweet design, so I'll go ahead and declare it a worthwhile use of my hour and a half.

Well there's certainly some Devilman to be found. Most of the real meat is found in the Cyborg stuff, as Devilman himself doesn't get much screen time and most stuff from Devilman is mook shit.

He at least gets some sweet lines though.
