It is pretty cool...and painful. But 600 kicks felt less tedious than Leopard.

The workout today hit me the hardest.
I was starting the six hundred kicks. 'Only did one hundred, and I felt overwhelmingly dazed and nauseous. After I retained stability three minutes later, I only did one hundred more before having to quit for the day.
As my older brother and I were leaving, we deduced that the food I ate before leaving probably caused it...aside from not being used to workouts.

You should elaborate on the experience. What kind of kicks are these? I didn't know there were Shaolin Temples in Amurica. What's Leopard? Do tell. Details are fun.

There are three types of kicks performed: an inside crescent, an outside crescent, and an axe kick. Fifty are done with each leg for all three types. After a total of three hundred kicks, the next three hundred are performed by shifting between legs for each kick. I'm supposed to do the inwards and outwards over a wooden dummy since I'm new to this. The Leopard I'm referring to has to do with Xingyiquan, one of the major Chinese martial arts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xingyiquan#Animal_formsLeopard isn't listed, but Tiger is more or less what I am referring to. Reason I'm doing all this? Because I never actually work out. My bro suggested this, so I figured "why not?". |
