I'm probably going to read this excellent piece of work another time over, but after that I will be looking for something to read.  Games don't seem to be holding my attention at the moment, and since for the moment, my brother has been controlling the damn computer, so I need something... could be a novel, graphic novel/comic/manga, collection of short stories, damn near anything.

I know this is vague, but I'm not good with these sort of things.  I suppose, if it may help, here is a list of books that I have enjoyed in the recent times.

HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy series
Sin City series
The Stand
The TommyKnockers
Watchmen
Lovely Complex series(a manga... don't ask... or do, I don't care)
Assorted Stories by H.P. Lovecraft

Thanks in advance.

A manga. Long-running. Looks a little weird for the first two volumes or so, but the art quickly gets better.

What is the story about, and how is it?

It's a story about a man struggling against fate and the overwhelming forces of his world, and it's one of the better ones that I have read.

I strongly advise The Killing Joke and Arkham Asylum. They're both excellent graphic novels, and some of Batman's best. The Killing Joke is a bit short, but very good, and Arkham Asylum is beyond words, it's a masterpiece.

Never been a Batman fan, but I will look into them.  Are they easy enough to find?

Neat.

I'm assuming they are more on the mature side?

Incredibly so. Arkham Asylum is incredibly dark and disturbing, just a a warning. The Killing Joke is as well.

Hooray!

You'd like Arkham Asylum. It requires only basic knowledge of Batman, yet has some of the darkest story-telling.

Without spoiling, what is the plot about?

A riot is held in Arkham, led by the Joker. Their demands are simple. Batman comes into the Asylum for a day, and be treated as an inmate. If he survives, the doctors and workers are set free.
