Lots of stuff has happened....
What gym are you on now then? What type, I mean?
Fighting, so I need Flyers and Psychics. And the Gym Leader, Chuck, has a Poliwrath, so an Electric-type would be useful as well.

Ah yeah, I remember Chuck and the Poliwrath. I was going WTF when I fought him first time and thought he was cheating, because I didn't realize Poliwrath was part fighting type.

With certain Water-types, I often have trouble remembering
when
in their evolutionary lines they become dual-types. Like, sometimes I forget that Poliwhirl is just a Water-type, and not part-Fighting. Or that Shellder and Seel are just pure Water-types rather than part-Ice.

Seel is just pure water? Seems I have the same problem then, I thought both of it's evolutions were part ice.

I think that's due the fact that it's based on a seal.
Something I find weird? Psyduck, which has "Psy" in its name and is pretty well known for its psychic powers, isn't even part-Psychic. Both it and Golduck are pure Water-types.

Yeah, I don't have that problem so much. I'm good at memorizing these sorts of things at a glance.

I think that might be it...
And yeah, it doesn't make sense. Doesn't Psyduck even learn confusion?

I am as well, for the most part. I just have brief lapses with certain pokemon. Either, like Psyduck and Seel, they seem like they
ought
to be dual-types, or they're pokemon I just don't normally do much with, like Shellder.

Well don't forget that Kingdra is part dragon or Claire will walk all over you.... Although there's not much you can do against it type wise seeing as it has only one weakness which it's also strong against....

Wednesday 19th May
3:39pm
Still training, getting closer to the right levels to attempt the Gym with. And Mesmero's just evolved into a Hypno.
6:30pm
Okay, training is complete. Time, at long last, to challenge the Gym. Wish me luck...
6:35pm
Huh, this place is rather different. Instead of just moving a couple of boulders out of the way, like in G/S/C, I have to climb two small hillsides and shut off the waterfall Chuck's meditating under so he'll actually notice me challenging him. Let's get cracking...
6:52pm
*snerk* Ah, Blackbelt Nob, my old friend... How I missed laughing immaturely at your ridiculous name. Durhurhur... Anyway, it's time to face the Gym Leader himself...
7:24pm
Well that wasn't a pleasant experience. First Chuck's Primeape spammed Double Team and Rock Slide with the odd Leer thrown in, then Poliwrath came in with Hypnosis, Body Slam and Focus Punch, the signature move of Chuck's pokemon. It didn't help that it also had a Sitrus Berry and Chuck used two Hyper Potions on it before I finally managed to knock the bloody thing out. Still, I managed to win in the end and I got the Storm Badge and TM01 Focus Punch for my trouble.
Oh, and Chuck's wife gave me HM02 Fly as I lef the gym, so Pell will now finally have a decent damaging move. And before someone comes in banging on about how two-turn moves suck ass and aren't worth it, I don't care. I've always found Fly useful, so suck it.
Right, back to Olivine to give the Lighthouse Ampharos his medicine...
7:40pm
Okay, Amphy is feeling better, and Jasmine's gone back to her Gym. Oh, and Baoba just phoned and said the Safari Zone's ready. I guess I'll go check it out later.

I SERIOUSLY DREAMT OF FLOYD BEING A KILLER CYBORG WHO RAN 10 TIMES FASTER THAN ANY NORMAL HUMAN, AND THEN KILLED MM, TURNED FEMALE, WENT AFTER ME, AND I DROPPED FROM THE SKYSCRAPER! IT HURTED, BUT I AWAKE CALMLY, THINKING I WOULDN'T SEE YOU AGAIN.
