Friday 28th May

Hey guys. Sorry it's been so long since my last entry. Blame it on my own laziness and being sidetracked by other stuff.

Anyway...

8:38pm
So I went for a Pokewalker stroll with Newton on the Dim Cave route while I helped walk my dogs. Once I got back I used the Poke Radar to catch a Smoochum, whom I shall nickname Rouge.

Now, I've already tried once to catch a Smoochum this way, but despite taking the right number of steps for her to appear, I just came across Onix after Onix after Onix, with the occasional Gastly thrown in, using up all my accumulated Watts in the process. This time, however, she was the second pokemon I found. Funny how things sometimes work out, isn't it?

No problem.

And I remember that's one thing that's always annoying... looking for a certain pokemon, and it just never appears.

It's more annoying on the Pokewalker because you only have a limited number of chances. Undecided

Yeah... I haven't done much with the pokewalker, but I can imagine it would drive me insane after a couple of times. Okay maybe not that bad, but you know what I mean.

The only time it's been really bad was the aforementioned first attempt to catch a Smoochum, and my attempt to catch an Elekid.

Dunno. I'd need to check the remaining Pokewalker routes. I do know that some post-nation pokedex routes have pokemon that require you to walk almost 10,000 steps before they'll appear. I know it'll be a bit less if you use an advantageous type, but even so...

Yeah... Depending on how rare the pokemon in question is once you've taken enough steps, I might just end up metaphorically telling the developers to **** off and trading said pokemon in from another version.

I can fully understand that... if the chances of finding it are still small after 10.000 steps, it's ridiculous.

Indeed...

It wouldn't even be that difficult for me to do. I've got at least one of every single pokemon on my Diamond version. All 493 pokemon and every variation of them, with the obvious exception of Origin Forme Giratina and Sky forme Shaymin. It wouldn't be hard for me to breed the pokemon I need and trade the new one over to SoulSilver.
