NGE is one of the most overrated shows ever but it's still pretty good in my opinion. I have to admit there were parts that were boring, but it wasn't bad. The movie definitely makes up for the last two god awful episodes.

Anyway I've never actually watched the show because it seems like the kind of show which would bore the hell out of me from what I've heard.

Ah, they still manage to have the Japanese school setting in a giant robot show. Is this kid going to man up at any point or is he just going to be an emotionally-damaged pansy the entire show?

Boring episode is boring, but I guess there's drama and what not. The opening theme song is pretty catchy, and I find it interesting that the same Tree of Life that's on Ed's Gateway flashes through the opening credits.

I'm hoping this is an indication that that will be relevant rather than completely irrelevant.

It seems like there is a lot of that in this show. Even the scene in this episode where Shinji goes to Rei's apartment tries too hard to be sexually charged.
