Nice. I've been feeling pretty low, so I'm gonna stick to YYH as comfort food until I'm in better headspace, then I'll get to Chernobyl.

Something I'm curious about rewatching YYH is how much of the show is about watching other characters watch the show. Like there's almost no justification for Koenma to be in any given episode, but there are frequent cutaways to him and ogre just watching the action on the big monitor. I guess those segments also serve as comic relief or exposition, but it's still an interesting choice.

It also comes up in the Maze Castle arc with the Saint Beasts watching the heroes progress through the castle, and then Suzaku forcing Yusuke to watch Keiko get chased.

Then there's Torukine and the Black Black Club watching Yusuke and Kuwabara fight through the mansion.

And of course the Dark Tournament is a big spectator event (even if it's a shounen trope, too).

I wonder if it's all meant to be a comment on fans and people who watch anime.
