I'm sure it is but it doesn't look like something I'd enjoy from what I've seen.

^ That's how I was with Cowboy Bebop. And while I agree it's a great anime, I didn't personally like it as much as most people.

As long as a show doesn't have a bunch of crap that must be put up with (endless filler, strings of shitty episodes, etc.), I'm generally good.

Fullmetal Alchemist is bereft of any such things. The most you have to put up with are brief moments of chibi that are funny if you let yourself laugh at them.

Although it does have a main character running gag (Ed being short), which I always hate.

The last 20 episodes or so of the original series were technically filler. <_<

It's actually true, though the filler becomes relevant to the plot and replaces the plot of the manga. Due to how it's executed, people just usually treat it as its own story rather than filler, though if you want to get technical, it is.

The first FMA anime is in a universe of it's own. I don't really consider the last 20 episodes filler.

Kenshin makes a badass villain. Also, lol at Steven Blum as a minor character.

And after that, this show has just officially kicked into awesome mode.

What part of the series are you in now?
The part where Legato is the main antagonist, and Vash just used his super gun to destroy another city. Also,

WOLFWOOF IS BACK

Mmmm, delicious Origin story.

Also, all other crazy anime names aside, who names a person Knives? That's just horribly blatant foreshadowing.
