I can stand that, mostly for the obvious reasons that those two guys were never really main characters in the first place. They didn't get much screen time, they never really contributed much except humor, and, all in all, weren't that important. It's nothing near the screwjob that went on near the end of 02 and Frontier.

Yeah, that was one of my few major gripes about Frontier, since unlike most people I actually liked that season. It's just a bit lame that the others pretty much just became upgrades for the main two digimon/characters. Y'know, until Susanoomon was brought out.

And, as I've already established, I'm less than impresed by the digivolving in Adventure 02. Savers/Data Squad has been the closest to getting it right so far, IMO.

What really irked me about 02's digivolving was that it was basically a copout for not creating six new Ultimate level digimon. Also, Silphymon looked stupid, and Claydollmon (or whatever) was just...wut.

And yes, I liked Frontier as well. Then I got further in and Takuya and Kouji unlocked their composite forms, and I was waiting excitedly for everybody else to do it as well...and then I realized that that totally wasn't going to happen, and lost most of my enthusiasm for the series. Then the Royal Knights came around...

I don't know, Silphymon wasn't that bad. He/she had a weird voice, though...

I think the Royal Knights were done better in Savers/Data Squad. Granted not many of them had a big role, but it still wasn't bad. And the makers didn't waste three or four episodes showing the "Digidestined" getting their asses handed to them again and again, IIRC.

Frontier had the best opening song though, IMO.

Oh, definitely that. I have to admit that the first opening from 01 was awesome and always gives me a nostalgia boost when I hear it, though.

To be honest, though, as much as I like Frontier, I can't help drawing a few similarities between it and Power Rangers.

Kids becoming digimon = morphin' time!
Koichi = sixth ranger

I'm sure there are others, but I can't remember right now...

Frontier's OP sounds pretty good, second to the Adventure's though.

Adventure's is dripping with nostalgia for me. >_>

Seeing as Japan invented Super Sentai, and Toku shows are a classic of pop culture there, it's really not that surprising.

I just find that the American versions fit the openings much better than the pretty weak rock openings the Japanese ones had. Except for Tamers. Tamers had an awesome JP OP.

I guess you could count MarineAngemon as well, but he was always a Mega, and actually pretty useless/pointless, anyway.

MarineAngemon scared off motherfucking ADR-01, which competed with Dukemon Crimson Mode for a bit. **** was fuckin' GAR.

Yeah, I get that now, but they're still two series I wouldn't immediately think of as being suitable to put together. Especially since it's so different from previous seasons of Digimon.

Still, that was only one fight. Though to be fair he might've seen more action if the writers had bothered to introduce him sooner.

One moment of glory doesn't make someone a badass.
