From what I hear, it manages to escape the sequel curse. For the most part, anyway.

Floyd is the devil.
I SERIOUSLY DREAMT OF FLOYD BEING A KILLER CYBORG WHO RAN 10 TIMES FASTER THAN ANY NORMAL HUMAN, AND THEN KILLED MM, TURNED FEMALE, WENT AFTER ME, AND I DROPPED FROM THE SKYSCRAPER! IT HURTED, BUT I AWAKE CALMLY, THINKING I WOULDN'T SEE YOU AGAIN.

Critical reception
The film holds a 76% overall approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 54 reviews with an average rating of 6.4/10.[61] Metacritic gave the film a 61 out of 100 based on a normalized rating of 6 reviews.[62]
Positive reviewers include Brian Lowry of Variety who stated, "Iron Man 2 isn't as much fun as its predecessor, but by the time the smoke clears, it'll do".[63] Anthony Lane of The New Yorker said, "To find a comic-book hero who doesn't agonize over his supergifts, and would defend his constitutional right to get a kick out of them, is frankly a relief".[64] David Edelstein of New York Magazine wrote, "It doesn’t come close to the emotional heft of those two rare 2s that outclassed their ones: Superman 2 and Spider-Man 2. But Iron Man 2 hums along quite nicely".[65]
Critics of the film include Kirk Honeycutt of The Hollywood Reporter who stated, "Everything fun and terrific about Iron Man, a mere two years ago, has vanished with its sequel. In its place, Iron Man 2 has substituted noise, confusion, multiple villains, irrelevant stunts and misguided story lines."[66] Ehhhh.

I thought this was really good.

But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured." - Kurt Vonnegut, jr.

Very very fun. I'll admit that I screamed "Awesome!" really loudly like a **** at the after-credits scene, but the movie was quite good. Not as good as the first, but I'll definitely buy it when it comes out on DVD.

I'll admit that I squealed liked a 60s-era schoolgirl at a Beatles concert at the after-credits scene, but the movie was quite good. The post-credits scene wasn't as awesome to me as the first movie's, but it was still good.

I used the word "Thorsome" knowing that it had some.... Unfortunate implications....
Oh and my friend said "Stop! Hammer time."

I saw it Sunday. While it's not as good as the first one, I thought it was really good and entertaining. I loved seeing the Captain America shield and Thor hammer also.

The shield plays a vital role in the movie. To be fair, everyone would have died were it not for Captain America's Mighty Shield.
