If anything, I figured that at first, Hawk's character wouldn't think much of them, what with the whole silly costumes and everything. But then, when we get to see them in battle, they're very very good, and maybe they would then earn quite a bit of respect from Hawk's character.

I also have a rough idea of which Bird Pokemon each would go with.


Ken the Pidgeot
Joe the Fearow
Jun the Altaria
Jinpei the Swellow
Ryu the Noctowl

Not knowing much about the series, I'm guessing those pokemon are similar to each character's respective bird?

Well:
Ken the Eagle = I figured Pidgeot is supposed to be a fairly basic bird of prey.
Joe the Condor = For some reason, I just feel like Fearow fits him.
Jun the Swan = ....there aren't really any Swan pokemon, so I went with some other elegant bird.
Jinpei the Swallow = >_>
Ryu the Owl = <_< Ok, so the last two were easy.

Fair enough.

BTW, what do you think of my suggestion of only one pseudo-legendary per main character?

Well yeah, it's obviously optional, I was just suggesting there be a maximum.

EDIT: I added a "Notable Moves" section to each of my Pokemon. It's just the movesets that I have for each in the game. I know that they won't be restricted to just those moves, but think of those as their most powerful/frequent moves, if that makes sense.

Y'know, looking over my comment again, I can kinda see the sense of badassness behind it. I sound like a harem protagonist who's suddenly decided to grow some balls and make some rousing speech before kicking ass.

Do you still intend on doing this? If not, I was curious about taking this and making it an RP instead. I have another character in mind, the younger brother of my Champion character.
