I'll try to keep things to the more modern end, otherwise I'll here all day. Deltarune This game is only about four hours long, but it's still four hours of Toby Fox characters, dialogue and music. I know not a ton of people enjoyed Undertale's combat, but I enjoy shmups so playing an RPG-ish game that replaces the boring RPG combat with it is a welcome change for me. That being said, it feels much better in this game and I look forward to seeing what the full game is like in two to five years. Best character was Lancer. Spyro Reignited Do I really need to say anything? It's two of my favorite games of all time(and Spyro 3) upped to modern graphics. My main complaint though is that the motion blur is REALLY bad in this game and I hate games that abuse it, I look forward to a PC release where I can turn it off and run the games at 60 fps. Super Mario Odyssey I never got around to 100%'ing it, but I did have a ton of fun with this game. I was happy for Nintendo to go back to a non-linear style of platforming for Mario and this is quite easily the most fun Mario has ever controlled especially once you get down cap jumping. Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze with New Funky Mode The swimming levels are sh  it, but the rest of this game has a lot of fun levels and bosses and I'm a big fan of the soundtrack since it's done by my favorite composer of all time. Diablo III Eternal Collection on Switch This is the first time I was able to actually get through the entirety of this game, the console controls and portability really helped out on that end. Unfortunately the game is still far inferior to Diablo II as an experience since it neutered true character customization and the loot drops are sh it. I shouldn't have to mention how the game itself feels like it was dumbed down for a PG-13 rating in comparison to the old games, but hey I still had some fun. Diablo II That's much better, I played through Act I through V over thanksgiving break with my Necro. It was nice playing this right after playing Diablo III so I can find actual reasoning beyond my usual "sprites >>> polygons" bulls hit that I normally spout. |

I actually haven't played through any of those except for a few hours of SMO. I've been meaning to get back into it, because it does feel like a legitimately good game. I'm waiting for Deltarune to be finished before playing it. I loved Undertale and I trust Toby Fox enough to make another classic.

I've actually only just recently started to actually play some more modern stuff, prior to that I was playing a ton of older s hit. Like I literally just got Let's Go Eevee in the mail today, so I'll probably be playing that and hopefully having fun with it until Smash drops. I'm also trying Injustice 2 finally since NRS will be taking a longer dev time for MK11, but I think only one other guy cares about that on here. EDIT: Man, this profanity filter sucks. Why are we still posting here again? |
