I don't see why it needs to be a two-parter, it wasn't really longer than any of the other books was it? Or are they simply milking the cash cow?

Probably all the loose ends the movie continuity has to tie up.

I still argue that the British military busting in and shooting Voldimort before rounding everyone else up as a cult would've been a far better ending.

The last book was shorter than the last three books at least.... I can't quite see the others from where I'm sitting and I'm not gonna get up to look....
And yeah the ending sorta sucked.... That would have been better....

The last book was shorter, but it had more stuff going on in it. I guess they feel they can't really afford to cut as much as they normally do.

It really didn't suck though. Gaffit's ending would have been awesome, but people had been following the series for more than a decade. That would've destroyed the part of people's psyche, returning them to their mind to the age when they started the series.

The only thing that sucked for me about the last book was the sheer number of deaths. J.K. Rowling really went on a killing spree...

Lupin and Tonks sucked the most (possibly tied with Fred), but I think the most ultimately pointless and unnecessary death was Colin Creevey.

Thee most pointful death in the entire series was Colin Creevey.

Though I was fully expecting his death.

That, and Colin Creevey had to die. There was no other way; it was hinted when he was introduced.
