Wasn't there a post-credit video of Deadpool's head looking around, being aware of the audience?

yeah. but they're still retconning it. I dunno, how else can you explain healing factor, teleportation and extreme skill with a sword? Though I guess they'd have to hand-wave away the eyebeams. Unless they kept them in for a really funny gag to be used once.

It would be fitting if he just decided not to use any of those powers.

Why would he not? They're his token powers. Without Teleportation and Regeneration, the dude's just a Punisher clone that won't shut up.

Well whatever they end up doing with Deadpool, apparently WB would like to make sure Reynolds isn't part of it. http://www.screened.com/news/does-wb-want-to-bogart-ryan-reynolds-to-spite-foxs-deadpool-movie/670/ The good chaps over at Den of Geek have an interesting and completely reasonable sounding hypothesis: the reason Warner Bros. so quickly green-lit sequels to Green Lantern, way before the film's completion date, has as much to do with their faith in the material as it does in them stymieing Fox's Deadpool movie and protecting their investment in its star, Ryan Reynolds. While word is that WB execs really liked what they saw from Green Lantern so far, locking down Reynolds provides an opportunity to throw a wrench in the cogs of their rivals and maybe deliver a slight amount of payback for that whole Watchmen debacle a while back. Part of this theory comes from good ol' fashioned logic, another part from Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld who tweeted:
"Warner Bros. just trying to protect their investment. They don't want Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool AND Green Lantern. Interesting 2 watch."
This is kind of shitty news for Deadpool fans who will either have to wait for a new actor to be chosen for the part or just wait altogether until Reynolds is done with other responsibilities. They have a good reason to be bummed considering the movie is rumored to be penned by Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, with Robert Rodriguez at the helm. Sigh. Let the waiting game begin, I guess.Doesn't sound too out of the realm of possibility, but I still hope that's not the case.
