When I finally get this game, I will cry tears of joy. And those tears shall flood the Earth.

Even if it's bad, I can still comfort myself with the knowledge that it's better than the second one.

Maybe I should try the second game again. I might like it this time around. I didn't actually beat it so maybe I'll give it a chance.

I'm not confident that it was the first, but it definitely defined both the FPS RPG and the Your Decisions Affect The Story genre. Basically you could make your character any way you want and be succesful as long as you played it smart. You could be an epic spy, able to remain unseen by both people and cameras, you could be a tech genius, able to hack any security system or mech and make it your sweet little thing. You had to wade waist deep through conspiracy theories encountering organizations such as the Illuminati and the Triads, either partnering with them or defeating them. Fisticuffs, Rockets, Rifles, Tranqs, Flashbombs, Grenades, and of course, everybody's favorite Dragon Tooth Sword, with a ridiculous variety of weapons and arching storylines where the game has three completely different endings and managing to look so damn good back in the year 2000 made it an instant classic.

The second game was eh.

*Gush*

I just don't understand how this could be a prequel. Wasn't J.C.'s older brother the first Cyborg agent? Maybe he was just "the first that we know of" or something.

I like how they actually have weapons built in though. That was hinted at in the first one where one of the characters asked to have a gun secretly mounted into his forehead so he could kill people more efficiently by just looking at them.

I didn't pay much attention but Denton was nanotech modified.

New guy looks like his modifications are a bit bigger.

I'm curious about how this game's status as a prequel will set it up for the first Deus Ex game.

I'm actually kinda hoping we'll somehow be the ones to blow up the Statue of Liberty.
