It infuriates me that certain people don't know about this. People don't seem to give a damn. I'm not exclusively talking about the American population either.

I don't mean to prove your point, I honestly don't keep track of the news much, but what?

I've known about this for awhile.... But didn't want to post about it....
I think this is why Spring thought people were drowning in fire or something....

That actually makes sense. Looking back, that joke I made was in horrible taste...

Heard about this a few weeks ago. Not much to say besides I hope the country receives genuine aid and isn't whored out by scam artists fronting as charities.
Off-topic:
That question about drownings was actually about a rash of Russians drowning, apparently because of the abnormally high temperatures causing people to go swimming, yet them not being used to/prepared for a lot of swimming since it's usually too cold to do so. Gaffit's response was such a failure that I didn't feel like finding a link to the article at the time (still don't now).

Horrible taste and horrible comedy I suppose... Unfortunately, the only resources America has a surplus of right now is oil and war equipment so I don't think they'll be seeing as much aid from us as I'd like to see go to them. I guess the only thing we can do is donate like hell and support sites that help with that sort of thing. I hate to plug it again, but Free Rice is a brilliant site that let's you donate rice by simply doing normal internet surfing every day.
