I like a mix, but it definitely has to be delicately done.
I am currently reading through Fruits Basket, and I love the mix they do. Comedy and drama, blended together. In fact, the first chapter of volume 13 (chapter 72) is the kind of blend I love.
I dislike it though when humour is used at an inappropriate time.
