Saw this tonight. It was phenomenal. My pick to win best picture. Firth and Rush should both win awards for their performances. Firth makes you squirm and yet there are some damn funny parts too.

I love the Brits.

I saw this a couple of weeks ago, and I'm very glad I did. The whole film is great, but Firth and Rush are particularly brilliant. It deserves any awards it gets, and I really hope it does well.

Is it Oscar-bait?

It's nominated for twelve of them, so I guess it is. Still a really good film, though.

Well, The King's Speech won seven out of its fourteen BAFTA nominations.

Best Original Music
Best Supporting Actress
Outstanding British Film
Best Supporting Actor
Best Original Screenplay
Best Leading Actor
Best Film

The only major one it missed out on was Best Director, which went to David Fincher for The Social Network.

I can't help feeling it won't do so well at the Oscars, though...

Wow, that was actually pretty good. Maybe only 20% as boring as I thought'd be. Quite entertaining.
